Golf Rules 101 - Significant Other

Always tell the wife that the round will take an hour longer than you think it will. This way when you come home a little earlier you will look like the good guy.

New clubs? I have had these for years!! :D

Any others?

As for saying the round will take longer than it should, always! THis doesn't just go for golf, if a client asks how long a job will take I always add 20%, that was if I finish faster than that we look like champs.

Wow, I am gonna have to say that sucks for you guys, because my advice is to just tell the truth. Always works for me.

Me too, man. My wife knows everything that I do and is my best friend, thats why she's my wife.

My significant other wants to golf as much or more than I do! She asks me why I am not playing if it is nice out. Gotta love that!

I like this theory... under promise, over deliver. You're a good man Matthew McConaughey.

MMMMMMMM

Wow, that really didn't help your cause. Just make sure you use a coaster with that flag drink. You wouldn't want to have a drink ring on that Justin Bieber mousepad of yours.

hahahahahaha

Pffft....I got 2 porsches too.......a front porsche and a back porsche!!:D

This made me LOL in my office!!!

I see on your CPU screen your reading one of my posts. Is that lipstick on the straw?

Chapstick

Wife actually encourages me to play more golf. So here's the secret: be so damn obnoxious that she'll gladly pay green fees to get you out of her sight...............

That's really nice. My wife has slowly accepted my obession. When I first started really getting back into things she thought you could play a round in 2 hours. She was like "you were out golfing for almost 4 1/2-5 hours, I thought golf was a quick sport." Ohhhhh she was so cute back then. jk.

I always ask for forgiveness rather than permission when it comes to buying golf equipment.

As far as how long my round takes, I try to pad it by 30 mins or so (including post round beverages and food) and if the course is really slow I will cut the food out and grab something on the run.

One of my non-golfer buddies was giving me a hard time the other night about spending so much time playing and practicing, thinking my wife would agree with him.

Her response, "I get more done around this house when he's gone than I do when he's here so I'm just fine with all his golfing!"

Took me a long time but I finally found me a good one....

That's what I hear. Also, "If you're out there, you're not here 'bothering' me."

I try to tell my wife this ALL the time, but she still cant comprehend. She still thinks it takes 1 hour to golf 9 holes and 2 hours to golf 18. I actually finished 9 holes once in just over 1.5 hrs and she still accused me of staying for beer after our golf! I dont think she will ever understand.:banghead:

I want her to go golfing with me sometime just so she will but she wont go.

My wife understands me and golf - I don't have to fudge the truth. However, when I spent $1600 on a lens for my camera things got interesting for a while. :bicker:

P.S. We each have our own accounts for discretionary spending.... and hers goes mostly to the casinos in Blackhawk so she really didn't have a leg to stand on.

Any good courses up that way? I could drop the Mrs. off at the casino and she wouldn't even realize 4-5 hours went by

Marry a women who is athletic and plays close to your handicap. Then you can both buy clubs when you want and don't have to worry about how long you are out on the course. Plus you will always have a playing partner. This works for me and has for over 30 years.

My wife does come to the course on occasion to walk with me when I play 9, she just likes walking the course. She has also ridden with me once when I played 18 on a Saturday morning so she understands how a round can run way over the 4 hrs. it's suppose to take.

Usually, I'll call her when I'm on 16 or 17 depending on where I'm playing and she'll meet me in the clubhouse for a drink or 2 and a bite to eat.

played 9 with the wife this week for the first time in 6+ years, had a pretty good time, maybe we will do it again every now and then
