Anybody here play Black Jack? I just started and I absolutely love it! I don't really have a casino here in NC, but with my travels, I am getting opportunities to stop by every now and again.

I have learned the basic strategy, but I am considering learning how to count cards. This is not illegal, but casino's don't like it if you make it obvious that you are counting cards.

I usually play when I go to our casinos. Not very often. Erica's actually really good at it, so she helps me out sometimes.

It's not an easy game to win at for long.

I enjoy black jack but like Hawk said, you have to hit it and quit it. Very hard to sit at a table for an extended period of time and win. Alot of it has to do with the experience level of the others playing at the table as well which can totally screw you over if they start making bad moves.

Cherokee is suppose to be getting dealer run tables in the near future.

There is definitely some etiquette and following it is very important to some people.

I love blackjack and play it whenever I go to Vegas. The key for me is to find a single deck game. There are not too many any more but you can still find them, even on the strip. You are not going to win a ton playing but I can make 200 last for 4 or 5 hours at a $10 table and that is fine for me.

Also very true. Dont touch the table when you want to hit. Saw some guy get a stern talking to for that...haha

It's about the only table game I'll play at casinos. If you're not there on a weekend (when they raise the table min.), and your smart...I've played for hours on $20 before. I like it because it's not raw luck. There actually is some level of knowledge or skill involved. I at least feel like I have more say in the outcome. The key is to leave when it turns against you, the longer you stay the more the odds stack up on the other side.

Iko Iko Nah Nay!

I have been playing in casinos for about 25 years, and am pretty good at it, and can help you with a ton of the proper ways to play hands. Be glad to give you any advice I can. Of course, playing right will not help if the cards just go cold, but the rest of the table won't want to kill you either.

I play any time I go to a casino, thats my game

was good to me for about a nice 2 year run, has been toxic since so I dont go hardly at all anymore

and like everyone else, I hate sitting with people that dont know what their doing

Last line here is very true.

I enjoy it during the annual South Dakota pheasant hunt weekend. The hunt don't start until noon the next day, so party lasts most of the night, much longer than our money.

Hitorstand.net has a game / trainer for free. It has basic "rules" built in and tells you if you break one. It keeps track of your fake "money" but mostly the % of correct choices you make. It's fun and pretty helpful.

I love Blackjack !

Stick and move...stick and move !

Poker is more profitable. Learn $1/$2 NL, you can thank me later.

Thanks Yorkem! I have managed not to piss anyone off because I learned when to hit and when to stay so I don't mess up the stack. I also know to ask before I sit and to wait for the next shoe if people seem to be on a streak.

I actually built myself up from 80$ to $360, but I was stupid and didn't leave the table. That is one thing I have learned. Get out while the getting is good. I think I managed to win $80 in one hand a couple times because I split and doubled down on both cards when a 5 or 6 was showing.

My dad js an excellent black jack player. Its all about memorizing tables and odds.

I like blackjack a lot. I've been working on card counting for some time. When I turn 21 I plan on retiring before I graduate from college because of all of the money I'll have made at blackjack.

I use to play a little cards in my day. Some would say I had a problem...I prefer to say I was quirky. I dont gamble anymore.

The people who get upset when you make a low percentage move just crack me up. This can make a difference if you are playing single deck, or even two deck blackjack, but with these multi-deck shoes they have today, the card you take has almost no effect at all on the odds of the next card being a face card or not. Its ridiculous how upset people get.....these are the same type of people who will whine when an unrepaired pitch mark allegedly knocks their putt offline, but don't even notice when a pitch mark actually knocks their ball into the hole.

I sometimes play an unconventional strategy. It is based on card counting, and trying to get as much money on the table as possible when I think the odds are in my favor....sometimes that means I split hands or double down when people least expect it, and sometimes it means a draw a face card out of the deck that otherwise would have gone to the dealer. Okay, we lose. But when I employ the same exact strategy and draw a bunch of low cards, and then the dealer draws a face card and busts, does anyone thank me? Oh no....we all just got "lucky", even though I made an idiot play.

My wife OTOH, is hilarious. She is awesome at Blackjack. Its not unusual for her to win as much as $1,000 per hour at a table. She can't count cards. She doesn't even know how many cards are in a standard deck. But she is unbeatable at always making the right move on each hand. Somehow, she subconsciously keeps track of the face cards and knows when the deck is weighted one way or the other, and she knows when to strike.

I hope so. I don't want to deal with a 6 deck electronic deal even though they don't reshuffle after each hand.

We will definitely talk.

That is cool! I will have to check that out.

I will look for a NL table next week when I am by a Casino. Thanks for the advice. I have been playing NL for years now.

Memorizing tables? Could you explain.

haha. I knew you would chime in on this. You always say that you are not a gambling man and I could always tell you were in the past.

That is a great talent to have!

Yeah, but they don't have real cards and they use shoes that are 6 decks deep. Makes it harder to count the cards.
I think they have cards now bro. I am not sure though. But I really want to say they do
