I cant tell you how many people inform me that I spelled my last name wrong and left out the "n". No, my last name is not Johns. It's Johs. And the J is silent.

Hmmmm.... War O's.... Sounds like a great cereal name :p

My last name is pronounced "Yo's" basically.

I wanted to name my daughter "Cheery" and my son "Ore" or Jalapen".

That way my kids would be Cheery Johs (Cheerio's) and either Ore Johs (Oreo's) or Jalapen Johs (Jalapenos).

So that basically makes you Daddy Johs?

So now its Daddy Johs instead of War Beagle?

So, after close to 4 months of dealing with the most irrational and aggressive new employee, he finally got fed up and quit. Now we are wondering if he remembered to take his meds so that he doesn't come back to work and attack us.

Pretty brutal that long-term employees were subject to the mood-swings of a new-hire, who didn't fit in from day one, and management was to timid to fire.

Well....there goes the golf round this evening...........damn you Weather Gods!

Why is it so hard to see an actual Dr. these days? No offense to Nurse Practioners, as I'm sure there are plenty out there that are great at what they do but this is ridiculous. I have been battling a hand problem for near 3 months now and I still have yet to see an actual Dr. for more than five minutes.

The cost of health care is out of control and the level of service is on a ridiculous decline.

Have you thought about going to a specialist? I do agree that you are seeing many more NPs, and that is hospitals trying to save money.

That's my next step but unfortunately I have to get one of these geniuses to refer me otherwise it's not covered by insurance. I have been begging and pleading with them for two months now and they all say "Aleve and Tylenol"

Guess what fellas, it isn't helping.

Bingo.

Also, with the wonderful new health care legislation, doctors are retiring at a CRAZY rapid rate. So, we're all only going to see more and more NP's and such.

Yep. Lots of stuff I am learning getting my MBA in healthcare. Interesting time to get involved in the field

It is only going to get worse like JMAN and TH have said. Older Dr.s are not going to go through the upgrades that are needed for Medicare and more physicians are going into a specialty leaving the family medicine up to NP's and PA"s.

While the general level of healthcare declines. I should just quit my job and have 8 kids so I don't have to pay for anything and it won't matter.

I changed to a new Primary care physician about 2 years ago when we moved to where we are now. I have been to the office probably 8 times for various things. I was thinking about it the other day, I have seen the actual Physician 1 time and that was my first time there. All NP's and PA's. Normally I dont care because its just a cold or something stupid but it would be nice to actually see the doctor once in a while.

Little Jrods, running around smashing toys on coffee tables. Awesome!

As long as they stay away from CoD they will be fine.

I am just thankful we are on an HMO so I dont have to get referrals. I just go directly to a specialist. $15 copay and no need for multiple trips for no reason.

Dev I am lucky in that regard also, and I have connections with physicians I work with to go see them directly. I'm not sure where all this is going to shake out, but when I'm done with my Masters hopefully I will be involved somewhere. I am actually ready for Branson as I'm sure TexasHacker and I can have some really interesting conversations.

JMan what is your fiance specializing in?
