I'll say this, in 4 trips to Golfsmith (in which i've spent... 700 on an iron set, $250 on a putter, also have bought a bag, 3deep, 3h, Mack daddy 2 sandwedge, and twice for the driver) They've never switched shafts for me to try different shafts, they put me on the ball mointor twice and went.... "Yep, you should go witht he X-Hot, it has a draw bias to help with your slice" (of which over my razr fit, it seems worse) and.. "I'm a tweener in speed, go with a regular shaft". I feel like I should contact someone to see if I should be fit for my current clubs. With everything I'm reading, I feel like you guy are telling me a solid fitting could change my game a bit
At the end of the day, there's only so much a club can do to stop a slice. If you're attacking the ball with the weight rotating off your back leg like you're swinging a baseball bat (totally guessing), you may as well aim left because that thing isn't going to fly straight with a hook biased driver let alone a draw biased one.
Here's an awesome thought: Next time you're at the range, grab a swing video with the driver, and post it to the "Ask a Pro" section -- GolfTec instructors come in and answer questions and can give you a good idea of what to work on. Either that, or find a good PGA instructor and start refining that swing rather than trying to find the perfect piece of equipment for it. For all I know, a couple tweaks could have you hitting baby fades.
A legitimate fitting by a certified shop, or an actual lesson could pay more dividends than you think.
