My first thought was you pulled back and slugged one Mongo style.

Did you kill it? Taking it home with you? I think you need a rug.
 
I've seen deer damage. A bear is a whole new level. Is it totaled?

Was thinking the same thing. A big deer can total a lot of cars, even small trucks. I can't imagine what a bear would do.

Update.
My van now has basically no front end.

I did not kill the bear, she is going to die though.
Think her back is broken. She has 2 cubs so I'm not exactly going out in the rain to check things out.
I'd say she is about 400-450 lbs. surprised air bags didn't go off.

And company policy dictates I go in the next 4 hours and take a drug and alcohol test.

Ouch CJ, that really sucks dude - all the way around.

Sad to hear about the mama bear & cubs, glad you're alright though man.
 
Holy crap CJ! That's insane! It stinks the bear won't make it, but I'm sure that there's something someone can do for the cubs. I guess that mileage mark won't be reached on this van!

Man that sucks about the bear and her cubs.

The airbags not deploying doesn't surprise me as the sensors often don't get hit in an accident or they are corroded and are no longer good.

HHJJ you get tuning a new van!

Easy really, just need a cold, windy, rainy night.

Then head north of Cadillac, MI towards Manistee on M55.
I guess they just jump out in front of you!

The nurse brought us a wagon to bring her around in. She giggled for an hour straight of me walking get around the peds floor.

Lol my boss just called to check in on me.
He asked how I didn't see a black bear on a pitch black night?
If my beard was a step on joining the bear wrestling circuit?
If I got the bears insurance information.
Do I really need a rental car?
If captn' crunch is indeed my favorite cereal.
And if I have been studying for my drug/alcohol test.

Glad he's having so much fun with this....
