Lake Charles - 2014 THP Invitational #2 Sponsored By Bridgestone Golf

No way. We could talk baseball...haha.
And business. But its a LONG way.

you do still have to chat with my about baseball careers... That is probably best saved for a dinner or something haha. I would love to make this one.. I will look into flying to love field or Houston depending on if someone could take me the rest of the way

I was 50/50 on this earlier but I think it's just too good to pass up.

Thinking the DFW contingent is going to be looking good heading there

I like it 3BD. We need to get a head count after signup to see how many are making the drive with the same time in mind.

Like I said earlier, I want to leave early Friday and play that afternoon followed by playing Sunday morning before driving back.

I plan on heading that way early Thursday or even Wednesday night (If I get in). I'll be staying with friends, so no hotel for me.

You'll love Contraband Bayou. Lots of holes with water around them, quite a few bunkers around the greens & some that guard the fairways. If its sunny, there will be alligators sunning themselves by the ponds. Most of them are 6' or less.

The casino hotel has a massive buffet featuring a variety of cuisines as well as a pricey steak house & asian food restaurant. The Jack Daniels bar is a pretty busy spot for partying if you're into that sort of thing. The waitresses there were easy on the eye as well. I doubt it will be warm enough to be open, but they have a pool bar with a lazy river outside too.

If you're the RVing type, they have RV hook ups right beside the proshop for the course. I'm not sure of the hook up rate, but it can't be too much. Should be very convenient for JB.

One last thing, if you come to hang out at the casino, park in the parking garage instead of the main lot. Its much easier access to the casino & dining & it protects you from the elements. :protip:

At some point while I'm there, I'm going to play Gray Plantation. It's part of Louisiana's Audobon Golf Trail. Very nice, wide open course through a upscale neighborhood with some holes bordering the lake. To me this is a can't miss course if you're in the area.

If anyone needs recommendations for restaraunts, etc... in addition to what THP plans, shoot me a PM.

Oh yeah, Bring bug spray. Sometimes a south wind can bring up the mosquitos off the coastal marshes.

Great tips Shakey!

Never count me out though.. this one is very intriguing. If I could get a ride from Houston I might be able to swing it... Might need to do some talking to the Houston contingent

Taylor if you want to look at flying into Houston, I have no problem picking you up at Hobby and heading out...I go right by Hobby on my way to Lake Charles anyways.

I will have room for 4 or 5 in my truck if anyone else wants to go that route...gear and luggage in the bed so we will have plenty of room....would just need everyone to coordinate their flights in to be pretty close together.

I was hoping to make this my first THP event but I'll be in the middle of a two hour meeting when the sign-ups start. Oh well....maybe next time. Have fun, it looks like this one will be a blast!

I dont think this one is going to sell out right away. You should still be okay to make it.

When the meeting I'll be in ends, I'll attempt to sign up via my phone immediately. We'll see.....fingers crossed X

Hope to get to meet you buddy.
Dont forget your 2014 Albatross Club so your entry counts.
I think a couple of hours after signup opens and you might still be good to go.

I can't recall what the average temp is for Lake Charles that time of the year. I am actually thinking about taking the wife on a surprise vacation. Right now I was planning on a cruise, but if the temp is right Louisiana could also be an option. Win win in my mind.

Have fun, fellas. My dad's member/guest is that weekend.

These invitationals really are awesome. You guys have done great putting these together. This looks awesome. Whoever gets in is going to have a blast!

Second option leave out of Mobile or Galvaston and drive to Lake Charles. Time to start planning.

Love hearing that buddy. Hope to see you there. This is going to be a fun one.

Just making sure I fill my THP itch. If it's available and the expenses are there I am going!

Can't make "Love in the Air" sushi night. Although with being in LA we will need to be eating Étouffée.

Screw it.. if I dont have a wedding or something going on that weekend I am going to be at this one. Fly into Dallas and catch a ride with those dudes I think... The price and then the cost of Fri/Sun golf is tough to pass up

I would kiss you on the mouth right now.
Well honestly, I wouldnt, despite your rugged good looks.
But I am looking forward to you being there as this one is going to be fun.
