As the 2014 events continue, THP is already looking ahead into 2015 for locations to host events at. This thread will serve as a place for our members to tell us where they would like to have a THP event in 2015 and why.

A full list of our 2014 Events can be found here:
http://www.thehackersparadise.com/forum/showthread.php?53947-2014-THP-Events-Calendar-Full-Schedule

There is a lot of reasoning that goes into the location for these events, and while there is no formal outline, I wanted to throw a few things out there as to what we look at when hosting an event.
1. Number of Albatross Club members in the area (and surrounding).
2. Ease to travel to, whether it be on the road or in the sky.
3. Top Tier Golf Courses-THP events are not held at your run of the mill courses, we demand pristine conditions and typically play some of the top courses in the state we are hosting the event in.
4. For our grand events, having a stay in play is important, if it is not possible, we need numerous hotels in the vicinity.

To get an idea on the type of venues, locations, etc , below is a list of some of or Grand Events in the past year:
2013 Bridgestone Championship-TPC Las Vegas

2014-The King-Championsgate Golf Resort

2014-The Gauntlet-Palmetto Dunes Golf resort

2014-The Bridgestone Championship-PGA National Golf Resort

Keep in mind that in the grand scheme we want this to be more about the location of the events and less about the “courses we want to play”
And a huge thanks in advance to those that will take the time to put thoughts in here.

The events in years past near Atlantic City have been fantastic.

Easy access from both NY and Philly Airports and even have the airport right in AC. Major roads in and out.

Tons to do in the area with plenty of lodging

Tons of courses in the area.

Central location for people from Baltimore to Upstate NY.

I would like to keep seeing events pop up at past/present tour stops. Always fun to play courses where tournaments have been held.

While it doesn't meet the requirements from an AC perspective, Branson was a blast!

Want to play Ledgestone again.

And I think Colorado needs a stop, I would enjoy making that trip.

Multiple day events that I can bring my wife to (LIITA, Bridgestone Champ) are always helpful.

Single day invitationals would need to be within driving distance. Indy and Hilton Head were both perfect this year I just couldn't squeeze them in after paying for TheKing, LIITA and Bridgestone Championship. Atlanta was perfect last year.

Keeping single day events under $100 is appreciated.

The behind the scene events with Manufacturers (Adams, Wilson, SeeMore) this year were also awesome and I would love to see similar events next year.

I thought 2014 was/is great so I don't know why you even need my opinion but thanks for asking!

What about a Casino themed series, with stops in Vegas, Jersey, Shreveport, Connecticut (Mohegan or Fox ....), etc? The TX stop could be Winstar. Maybe the THPers can start listing what states allow casinos, along with whether those casinos have course onsite or nearby.

I would love to see an event come back to Branson. I think it really is one of the best places in the Midwest to host an event as we saw with the Branson THP event.

Also Dallas area would be another good one.

EDIT: That top of the rock resort could prove to be pretty sweet if we went with Branson

1 isnt bad, but a whole series kinda alienates the folks that choose not to gamble imo

Colorado (Denver)
SoCal (San Diego/Carlsbad)

I will say a Colorado event would be ideal. After that I would love to see an event in San Antonio at the La Cantera Hill Country Resort. It has all the amenities needed for stay & play with two great courses.

Start off with north Texas

Why you ask?

1) Home of AFWCardinal, Baldguy, Big Time Nate, Jank, Matthew, Niteowl & about 100 others. Hall of Fame members such as #Cookie, Capt. Dru,Three Boys Dad & JMAN.
2) Home to a major golf OEM
3) How could you forget this? http://www.thehackersparadise.com/f...wnTheSecondShot-THP-amp-Adams-Golf-Event-Info or this http://www.thehackersparadise.com/forum/showthread.php?43810-THP-Winstar-Golf-Course
4) Everybody knows that Texas golf is a true test of ability (see above HOF members, including the 1st two time member)
5) Did I mention Big Time Nate?

I really think the question is why aren't they all here

I'd love to see a Denver area event. Also, and I might not even be able to attend this if it happened, but a behind the scenes with Bridgestone would be awesome, especially with how good they've been to THP.

SA would be sweet. River walk would be an awesome nighttime destination also (unsure how close it is to resort).

I will just list cities (I agree mike it more about the location than individual courses) and I think Cities that are easy travel destinations from all parts of the country would be nice.

Dallas, TX
Orlando, FL
Las Vegas, NV
Phoenix, AZ
Denver, CO
Atlantic City
Indianapolis, IN
Atlanta, GA
Chicago, IL
Branson, MO (of course that is not like the other cities I listed, but I am a homer lol)

I did not think of San Antonio, That would be a great place for an outing in the Spring

Denver in the summer would be awesome as well

For something like an Invitational, I'd love to see something on the RTJ Trail in Alabama. I think an event in the Birmingham or Prattville venues would have success bringing folks both over from Atlanta as well as down from Memphis.

I would have 2nd Colorado as the scenery and courses would be awesome. I'm not sure how large the influence is in Kentucky, but wouldn't mind seeing something there as well.

I would not sign up for any of these, I love few things, but golf and cards are near the top of the list. If I came back, it would be sleep deprived with no money in my bank account.

If you want to play Ledgestone, I know a guy who will play with you and be your host :D

Anything in the Central Florida area would be convenient for those coming in via plane through Tampa (one of the best airports in the United States year after year) as well as Orlando. With countless golf courses within an hour's drive of either location, plus accommodations ranging from gets the job done to world class service and amenities, it has proven time after time that solid turnout events can be hosted in this area.

A few facts worth noting that may help in the decision process:
1. It is not and will never be Ohio.
2. What is snow? We couldn't tell you
3. Unless someone from up North is bringing it with them, typically very comfortable weather conditions from November-End of April and early May.
4. See reasons #1 and #2.

Both great ideas.

I was also going to throw out the KC area, there are a ton of nice courses in the area, and travel to is quite wasy.

If I had to rank it would be:

1 - KC
2 - Branson
3 - CO

I appreciate this post buddy, the easier answer would be to keep it local to you but I like that you spread it out

I know I'm biased with the Atlanta location, but logistically, it's an incredibly easy spot for a THP event. Tons of excellent courses, lots of albatross members in driving distance, and a huge airport to fly in whomever.

I think an event in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area would be pretty cool. I would be up for making that trip.

Orlando area also seems like a no-brainer, but amazingly the local albatross contingent is sometimes a little hit or miss. Regardless, though, there are several out of towners who would make a trip to Orlando, especially in the Spring or Fall.

KC always gets a ton of votes. I will be honest though and say up front, that so few from KC have ever traveled to an event including Branson or others nearby, makes me very apprehensive. Which is a shame because for a smaller event, its a solid area.
