THP Regional Rivalry - Ohio vs Michigan - Sponsored By True Temper

Ice Cream Social anyone?

As for our sponsor how many of you are gaming a True Temper shaft?

I have them in all three of my sets of irons.

I've gamed the PX graphite but not the steel. Does this count?

I have their products in my wedges. Currently looking into getting new irons with PX shafts, so that could jump the number from 2 to 10.

Okay gentlemen,
Better downtown right now and 5 years from now.

Detroit vs Cleveland vs Cincy

I have the new TT DG AMT in my new 716 AP2! So far (with only a few rounds under my belt) I love them. I also have DG shafts in my wedges.

If I didn't try these, I was dead set on Project X 6.0's. I still often debate in my head if I should have gone that route or if I made the right choice with the new AMT technology. Honestly though, both such great options in my opinion!

OHHH.... And not to mention the Project X Handcrafted in my driver... Probably still my best move regarding golf equipment. This shaft is simply amazing!

What no Columbus???

I love that Boulder Creek is one of those courses that punishes.. No sneaking through the round with mediocre shots, although there are places to miss without penalty.

It would not surprise me to see a lot of the matches trade hole to hole, rather than long gaps of ties.

I'd have to say Cleveland if you just count from downtown moving west. Completely redoing public square right now (center of downtown) and the west side of the city is being completely redone with a ton of restaurants and bars coming in. Plus with all the RNC money coming in for next year things should benefit greatly around the area.

Youngstown?

This is very true, wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Detroit, Cleveland, Cincy in that order.

Detroit is reviving right now and in five years a lot of very cool things will be finished.

Cleveland isn't really that bad, (other than the worlds worst casino) not really fan of access to the city though

Cincy. Will the highway system ever be finished there?

While detroit is on the rise Cleveland is pretty good. The one time I've been there is had a blast, plus took some money from the horseshoe! In 5 years...maybe detroit could overtake. I've never been to downtown cincy.

Been downtown in all three of these cities. and for me with D-town depends how far down town you want to go.
If i had to rank them current would be:
Cleveland
Detroit
Cincy
5 years from now:
honestly who knows! but i would probably stay in the same order.

I think cle and Detroit will be pretty similar. If all the RNC money wasnt being dumped into the city id give Detroit the edge but they are cleaning things up quite a bit so ill go with a tie.

Cant speak to cincy didnt go down there much

Speaking of cincy where the heck is amart????

Cleveland is continuing to grow. The flats have been completely re vamped and it's awesome down there. Honestly Dan Gilbert is the one to thank for it too.

For me, road conditions not included in decision, It would be Cleveland, Cincinnati then Detroit. Cleveland has an awesome downtown area. Detroits isn't bad either. Cincinnati beats Detroit just cuz I hate Michigan. :banghead:

hahaha I was about to say, if AMart ever comes back on THP he'll tell you how super downtown Cincy is.

I refuse to go down there without a taser or something.

And the Theater district with playhouse square. They are redoing a bunch of that area too

As long as the corner of Carnegie and Ontario is still there I am going with Cleveland now and in 5 years.

I ended up at a gas station one night dude putting air in his tire had no teeth 1 shoe on and no shirt.
I locked the doors

Josh, honest question here. Where does THP stand with the new USGA rule of having to have someone attest to all posted rounds?

I am not able to attend this event, but using myself as an example, if I was vying for a spot I have no idea if I could give as a valid handicap under the new rules. I ended 2015 at 13.1. But if I followed the new rules I would quite literally never be able to post a round. I play by myself almost every time (unless you count my kids) and unless more members of my club start playing in the evenings that won't change.

So I would have a 13.1, which would be at least 9 months old by the time the event came around. It's likely my game will be different by then - hopefully better but who knows. Either way the odds are that it would not be an accurate representation.

Bumping this.

You guys are out of control in here. This crazy talk would not have occurred if Texas has been selected. I'm just saying.

Now forgive me while I run out of here before my back end is swatted! :D
