This is a press release

With a focus on maximizing MOI through multi-material designs and minimizing the frustration that comes with missed putts, PING today introduced the 2021 putter series. Available in 11 models, the custom-built putters are available for pre-order beginning today at authorized PING golf shops around the world.

“We’ve engineered a lot of score-lowering technology into the 2021 putter line through extensive research and tour player feedback,” said John K. Solheim, PING President. “All of the models are developed with higher MOI through strategic use of various materials, including tungsten, steel and aluminum, to provide the forgiveness and accuracy golfers expect from a PING putter. The dual-durometer insert features uniform, shallow grooves to give golfers a soft, responsive feel for more consistent distance control with the precise touch they need to hole more putts. We’ve also advanced the visual cues depending on the model to help make alignment easier and more natural when addressing a putt.”

“Eleven options ensure a putter to fit every golfer’s eye and stroke type,” Solheim added. “The line-up features new designs created through our Tour-focused PLD (Putting Lab Design) program, including versions inspired by PING professionals Viktor Hovland (DS 72) and Cameron Champ (Tyne 4). From blades to mallets and for straight, slight arc and strong-arc stroke types, it’s a complete line engineered to lower scores and increase enjoyment.”

High MOI, Multi-Material Designs
Each model in the series is built using aerospace-grade materials in a variety of shapes and sizes to achieve new levels of forgiveness. The three Anser versions (Anser, Anser 2, Anser 4) combine a stainless-steel head with tungsten heel and toe weights to elevate the popular design’s MOI to its highest ever. In the Kushin 4, DS 72 and Tyne 4, a steel weight is used in the heel and tungsten is applied to the toe to better optimize the CG location for higher performance. The Fetch and Oslo H join a cast 304 stainless steel body with an aluminum sole plate to position mass around the entire perimeter to create highly forgiving mallet-style designs. In the new CA 70, a dense stainless steel sole weight lowers the CG of the aluminum body for more forgiving results. The Harwood delivers the highest MOI in the line due to its 6061 aluminum body and 93g tungsten weights in all four corners of the fully-machined design.

Dual-Durometer Insert for Soft, Solid Feel
The soft, responsive face in every model is the result of an innovative dual-durometer PEBAX insert material and uniform, shallow grooves. The softer front layer of the insert ensures the precision necessary for shorter, delicate must-makes. The firmer back layer offers the solid feedback and distance control required for holing longer-range putts and improving overall consistency.

“By combining the two hardnesses of the PEBAX material we’re providing a feel preference that appeals to a large segment of golfers while delivering the consistency golfers need to improve their ‘strokes gained: putting’ results,” said Solheim. “It is designed for the golfer who prefers a putter on the softer side of the feel spectrum but with the response of a firm face.”

I didnt see anything any where about these. A little interesting, kinda ho hum. Looks like frontline tech built in..

Assuming a Sigma 2 replacement, any idea on the feel vs those?

I'm not a huge fan of the black and red colors but they don't look awful. I like the CA 70 and Fetch the best.

The Kushin 4 and the Tyne 4 are 🔥. Ping did a very nice job with this release.

Why can’t ping just release a decent putter line. You know something PLD..

I noticed from watching a 2nd Swing review video that they dropped the adjustable length grip on these.

Wow, it looks like Ping took a major page out of the Frontline page. They look ok and I'm pretty curious how that insert feels. That Tyne C is 🔥🔥🔥 but I'm not sure I'm in to an insert. Too bad Ping doesn't come out with a killer milled line again.

I saw that too. The ability to adjust the length was amazing in my book. I don’t see why they wouldn’t keep it. I work in a local pro shop and it was so easy to sell to anyone.

Not sure if I like these better than the Heppler copper putters, but they do look better than the Sigma. The options are nice, but I'd have to see some real on-course benefits before I could justify an extra $50 over a Frontline.

I like the look but am waiting to see if there are more head shapes. Playing mid mallets is difficult at best to find ones that are like able. Seems my options are limited to Odyssey #9 or SC Newport 3.

I really want a Fetch.

I like the looks of the Anser at address but otherwise I am not a fan of the colour flashes elsewhere.

Kind if sad to see that the Kushin with a center shaft is not an option. I still have an play from time to time the Sigma 2 Kushin C I have. If you are a center shafted player like I have been, seems like the Tyne C may be your only stock option from this line. but the good news is that with the black and red color scheme, you can go around calling the Tyne C fangs your "vampire putter".

I like Ping but I have questions.

Why the red? IMO, it makes it look... cheaper? I think solid black or a grey insert would have looked better.

Why doesn’t Ping come out with a PLD line at reasonable prices?

How about a Vault 3 line with a Tyne? The Vault line seemed like that more premium that could compete with Scotty in that genre of putter.

These look much better in person and roll the ball pretty well. The Tyne looks pretty good.

If they did a mass PLD release they wouldn’t be able to release something like the Prime Tyne PLD at $440. Which sold easily. On eBay they fetch well over that and my local shops sold out of them quickly.

for a fully Milled putter their prior PLD pricing is reasonable and in line with other higher end Milled putters

I have an Anser Sigma 2 and I really like it. I understand that all of these companies try to put all of this tech into their putters and all of them look like the Anser. If they are all using that design, then maybe just maybe it really is the answer. That said I really believe it comes down to feel and of course PRACTICE. I played a lot of Baseball when I was younger and there was a team mate who struggled with his hitting. He went out and bought a new tech Ceramic bat for about 300.00 and back then that was alot of money, and said it was going to raise his average 50 points. Well it didn't, the reason, if you don't hit the ball all of the tech in the world will not help you. So to me, you can buy any putter you want but if you don't practice your still going to 3 putt most greens.

I think I can go pickup a Scotty Cameron today. PLD... not so much.
