CA Championship (Spoilers)

Briny Baird's putting stance still freaks me out.

Wow Mickleson! That is all I can say!!! Anyone see his near ace?

Rory Is falling apart, I don't think he understands what deep bermuda can do the club on the pitch shots.

I just watched the CA for around 4 straight hours.

Yeah, I can't believe Mickelson's tee shot on 13th didn't stay in the hole.

I just hope tomorrow isn't a xerox copy of the Northern Trust. I hate when the winner doesn't "win" the tournament. I hope Phil goes out and plays the way he did today. If someone makes a competition out of it by playing up to Phil's (or Nick Watney's) level, great. But I don't a close tournament because the winner played crappy.

McIlroy's chips were horrendous.

Some random thoughts:
I've always been a fan of Baddeley. Class act.

Phil is making me eat crow after I predicted he would have a lousy year.:beat-up:

I'm not sure why but I'm having trouble routing for Nick Watney.

Rory chips like I do.:D

I did like Johnny Miller but now I think they should get rid of him and put Butch Harmon in his place. I liked his commentary and swing analysis.

That is really class of him to call the penalty on himself. It's unfortunate that happened though. That is really wonky.

Totally agreed on the class act part. He'll have other chances.

= sad Claire. No more plaid pants for the weekend.

Too busy to turn on the television, and it appears I can count on you the good folks here to post the important photos of players in and out of their pants.

Who's got a prediction for tomorrow? First, will anyone catch the co-leaders or will it be a 2 man race? Second, how is it going to shake out between Mickelson and Watney assuming it is one of the leaders who ends up winning? Last, think we're going to see a sick number out of Tiger to get everyone talking...say like a 63 or so?

I'll go first.....since well I'm the one typing right now. :D

#1, nobody will lead or co-lead other than Watney/Mickelson....bold prediction eh?
#2, Watney won't go anywhere, but in the end Mickelson will just have a bit more in the tank to pull out the wire to wire victory and subsequently notching his first WGC title (anyone else surprised by him never winning a WGC before?).
#2b, The winning score will be -20. I think Mickelson has a pretty smooth 68 in him to pull down a huge win that'll make ol Shanksalot continue to enjoy the taste of the crow he's been chewing on....
#3, Nah- Tiger might throw out a 66 or so, but nothing that'll freak people out. I do think some of the putts will start dropping for him, he usually has a way of piecing those kind of things together and not continue to be befuddled by them all tourney long.

I'm with Longshanks in the hope that the winner at least has to go out and play well to take it home. Nothing sucks the wind out of a potential great finish like a winner stumbling in with a 73 to survive by the skin of his teeth. I am really looking forward to the finish though, should be full of action!!

Shanksy isn't the only eater of the black-feathered bird of shame. I believe I have a healthy order of it coming. JB has been remarkably quiet about "crowing" that he told us so! God, this is going to sell some short game clinic CDs (no apostrophe claire, yay!) though! Talk about good timing. Go Phil, go!

Moi? Nah...

Camillo is wearing black pants and a red shirt today.

Interesting.

something like that....I guess it doesn't pay to get naked on the golf course after all.

Oh please. Guys will pay to see women get naked no matter where it is.

I just dont get it. A guy yells "get in the water" and Johnny Miller says "fans will say all sorts of things. That is absurd. Johnny Miller needs to go NOW!

Phil takes another win this year.

That was fantastic. I love the fact that Phil has a "gopherit!" mentality, but holy heck he needs to be thankful about Watney's stubbed sand shot - that may have been the difference.

I liked what Phil said about the possibility of him overtaking Tiger as World #1.

And nice finish to the tournament. Furyk came on at the end.

Some stumbles, but much more impressive than the Northern Trust finish.

What did Phil have to say about that? He's close too, in fact I would be surprised if he doesn't take over world #1 by the Masters. Now this I can get behind and believe- Phil deserves it, especially if he wins again soon. Sergio....not quite. Sorry Sergio fans.

Way to go Lefty....we all have to have a hero...
I am from Vegas and they call Phil "The Gambler"
coincidence...I think not....

Yeah, Id have to agree with whoever said that anyone who yells things like that should be escorted off the course.
You know Miller though, he always has to have the last word and thats probably all he could think to say.

Phil seems to have a very realistic viewpoint of the world ranking. As to Furyk, wow, what a finish for him.
Its a just a shame he didnt sink that putt for eagle.
What did Phil have to say about that?
He commented that yes, he's closing to becoming world #1, but Tiger was also out for 8 months.
He knows that Tiger is still #1 and that if Tiger hadnt missed most of last year, he wouldnt be anywhere close to him in the world rankings.

Thanks for the recap Bake. I would have to agree with what he said, we all know it is true, but it's nice to hear the potential next #1 say that. Am I out of touch with reality if I think that Phil will be #1 by the Masters? I just think as well as he's playing right now he'll get an extra boost of motivation from being so close and I really see him doing it. How long he stays there is another question, but getting there is the first part.

I was really happy to see Phil win I have always liked him. I was also very happy to see Sergio do poorly, I used to love Sergio until going to Doral this past week and learning more about him as a person, now I am not a big fan of his.

I'm with you GG- well not that I stopped being a fan this week, but I did used to be a fan but after his whole whining after losing the British to Padraig, spitting in the cup, whining here, whining there, I finally just grew tired of him and now wish sea sickness and lockjaw at the same time upon him. He's a puke in my opinion.
