It's really well thought out, in my opinion. They allow the creativity to create your own courses going as far as being able to create every break in the greens with land raising/leveling.
One thing I will say, a lot of people don't like it because of the difficulty. It's basically like playing Tiger Woods on Tour Pro or whatever. No 'easy' option, and bad lies punish in a big way.

I played this the other night and forgot how much putting can suck. After an 8 on the first hole I turned FIFA on. The guy commentating sounds too much like Canadan, and I feel like he's belittling me when I don't hit a good shot.

You should try playing when they both gang up on you. It's the worst.
Until you learn what "usually" gets you out of trouble. Deep lie in the thickest rough? That's at least two more clubs plus the run out.
I think that's the biggest complaint on their forums. :clown:

edit: Oh yeah, my 20th course will come out tonight. I only spent about 8 hours on it, but I think it's solid. Easy...but solid. Just watch where you're hitting before you tee off, and check that club selection.
I need a name though.... was thinking T0AD's Happy Place. Get it? See what I did there?

The people complaining about the guy "commentary", you can easily turn it off in the settings. I did that after the first round because it was really annoying and without it, it feels like you are just out on a course playing by yourself. I actually really like the putting and chipping, its probably the most realistic in a video game. No shot meters or anything really makes you pay attention to the swing and not just hitting a button at the right time.

I honestly don't care about the guy talking. He just reminds me of Dan when he critiques one of your shots in real life. Just makes me feel like less of a man.

Was messing around with xbox ones updated upload studio, and made this clip of some of my shots. Its pretty cool what you can do on it now! TOADs ghost is a guest star in a few of the shots too.

So there's something in here that I've been waiting for that I missed the first time I watched it. Second time, I saw it. Retaining walls. My guess is they will behave like bridges and hold to the water level, but I like it and will be incorporating it into the course I'm making currently.
Those actually might be the brick bridge. I've seen a couple people use it to great effectiveness. They create a border, then raise and sculpt so that only that portion you can see is left visible. I would imagine VERY time consuming. I will wait for the next feature update and they'll be there, ready-made. (Late Feb/early Mar)
Wondering...is there anyone new to X1? Who's still playing this game? C'mon ppl, the next update is going to kill, I think. (Coming very soon)

Also, you guys should check out the course "Crazy water fun!!!!" it should be on all platforms, but is probably the most fun of any course I've played. If you can shoot straight, you'll be able to shoot low (mine -19 I believe), if not you could struggle (my buddy shot +22). Hint: overshoot and roll back to the hole.
Check it out, you won't be disappointed ... unless you don't shoot straight, lol.

Yeah that's a fun little puttputt type course just to screw around on. Once you learn the holes, it's fun to try and get the roll you want.

Just got this game the other day and I can't putt to save my life. Unless it's within 5 feet I am probably 3 putting. Like the game so far other than that. is there a way to hit the ball further or is it just kind of a set distance?

Everyone hits the ball the same distance. It's the golf socialism lol. Levels the playing field well. Putting, I feel like I make the same stroke every time, might be helpful.

For myself putting, I always line up the aiming post correctly for distance as well, cause if that's right it'll add 3% to your chance of making it. On the joystick, I bring it back like a few mm or like 1/16 of an inch, and once my putter pulls back to the right distance, push forward all the way, hard and straight. Not bringing the joystick back all the way has straightened my putts a lot. Well works for me, maybe it'll help you.
Stupid question but is this game available on the Xbox One? My son just got an Xbox One for his birthday but I'm not seeing this game at Walmart or online at Amazon... I haven't checked game stop yet.
