Just bought a beat up old FGP on the bay. Perfect reclamation project to repaint and customize. Question though? Is it the same material as the new one's? It was painted so I assume it isn't bronze.

Same here. I don't mind crushing the hopes and dreams of the general public, but not THP'rs.Well now that I know you are all watching it I'll let it go. Usually I go all in on eBay when I find something like this. #mustwinauctions
Yeah it is one of those. What would be the difference in feel relative to steel.I just went thru this. There are indeed painted bronze fgp putters! From all the pictures I have seen if the engraving on the bottom of the putter says "The Seemore FGP" it is a bronze head; where the stainless ones say "Seemore FGP".
From what I can find on Google there was a series of putters that they put out for a while that were bronze putters painted black; except for the face.
You should be able to look at the face, and if it does not look like stainless steel the it is probably a bronze putter. The bronze ones can patina on the face, but if you see any hint of yellow undertones in the color I bet it is bronze. Also any chips in the paint will show a faint yellow to them if it is bronze.
I also think that most of the bronze putters had a smooth face, while the stainless has milling on the face. I could be wrong on this as there are lot of special models, but most I have seen hold to this.
This info is only from my observations and experience, and someone with more experience may chime in.
My bronze FGP is hanging in the garage now and needs another coat of paint!

I had no idea what you were talking about this past weekend. Now I know, and glad you confirmed your suspicion.Well that confirms it. I'm not insane!

I definitely want to get a SeeMore putter. I'm leaning toward the Si1 or Si2 or one of the FGP models.
I'd say between those, depends if you prefer an insert or not. I spent a _lot_ of time rolling various SeeMores at golf galaxy, and the FGP and PTM were my favorites there - using the FGP mallet now. I really want to try one of the models with the tri-sole, because that's one of the things I love about the other putter I use regularly.
If the MA folks get together at some point before snow falls, I'll make sure I bring the FGP with me.
As promised, a little putter porn from my hotel room in Columbus, GA
Not that I NEED another putter, but which lines come with the tri sole? Or is it just some of the PR models? Big fan of that sole design in another putter I have.
The Zeds are tri soled?Z's and a couple of PR's
