Kinetixx shafts are high tech and can fit a variety of different golfers. We wanted to put it to the test, but before diving into the swings and data (video below), let’s breakdown the specs and what is available in what makes the Velocity such a high tech and high performance golf shaft.
Vacuum curing reduces resin content and Kinetixx is the only manufacturer doing this currently. What does that mean? Enhanced feedback and performance is the goal and getting there by optimizing dynamic recovery properties of the material.
The Velocity line features active butt and tip sections designed for the golfer looking for better efficiency and you guessed it, more velocity. Want to get technical? Mid balance point in a shaft that kicks hard and recovers very quickly. Mid to high launch, yet being extremely stable throughout. In layman’s terms, ever hear people talk about shaft feel or kick and not really translate that to your game because you don’t feel it? A few swings with Kinetixx Velocity and you will.
Have you tried out Velocity by Kinetixx? After watching the video from the THP Tech Studio, could it be the right shaft for you?
Distances were about on par with what I expect from my gamer setup. I stll feel like my absolute best strikes might be a touch shorter with the Velocity, but overall I think it’s really close across the board. I’m kind of digging the feel of this thing now that I figured out my tempo with it.
Figuring out the tempo was key for me too, but I think it’s as much about my swing in general as it is about the shaft. Hit 9/13 FW yesterday, another good day with it. I’m not sure what magic pixie dust Paderson put into this shaft, but it’s working out very well for me!
High soft draws ???

I used my driver 7 times with no OB balls and 6 if the FW with one a bit out. On the last hole I hit 2 drives. I think consistent needs to be added to the description we all use for this shaft. I put two right down the middle setting up a nice 2nd shot for the par 5. With all the rain the course was wet so no roll out at all today. The first pic is the tee box on 18 going over the desert.

Hope you filled those or @Canadan will freak out! ?
I did fix those the big divot was not mine. I fixed so many ball marks today it was crazy.
Looks:
I have an original hand crafted HZRDUS Yellow and I love the yellow paint job. It’s bold and in your face, but it looks great. Even if it doesn’t match up awesome with every driver paint scheme out there. The blue on the Velocity though blows it out of the water for mostly the same reasons. I’ve had more comments on the color or "what’s that?" questions with the Velocity than any other golf shaft I can remember. I love it.
Distance:
I still feel like I’m just a touch longer on my absolutely bombed shots with the Yellow, but everywhere else the Velocity is either matching up or exceeding where I’d be with my gamer setup.
Dispersion:
This is all subjective but once I got my timing down with the Velocity, my dispersion seems to be a bit better. I feel like it limits the two way miss a bit, which lets me aim down the left side and let it rip. I’ve found my fairway misses to be not as deep in the rough and fewer severely wayward tee shots.
Shaping:
At my handicap I honestly shouldn’t be too worried about shaping, but I do have holes where I’ll try to dial up a draw or fade. The course I played this weekend requires a draw on a couple of holes, and fades on others if you want to be in the better spots. This is the only aspect where the Velocity ha a clear disadvantage for me. I’ve struggled to get it to turn over. It’s a small fade or a large fade for me depending on how I set up. I can make it hook on the range by exaggerating things or getting really quick, but nothing I’d normally do on the course.
Feel:
If this thread has proven anything, it’s that I’m not as sensitive as some are to feel. That said I still think the Velocity feels softer in hand and through the swing. It really does respond to a smooth transition, which I was able to get by lengthening out my swing just a bit, and when you put it together it has potential to hit some pretty deep tee shots.
Overall if I’m being honest with myself, the Velocity is probably a better fit for me right now. I think there’s also a mental aspect to knowing it responds well to a smooth transition as it forces me to not be stupid (I struggle there) and try to muscle up some speed.
I’ve completed my driver testing for now and will be sticking with the Mavrik until next years stuff starts to trickle out at least. Going back to the Velocity as my gamer in the Mav to see if I can capitalize on the benefits I’m seeing above. Maybe even see if I can get this sucker to draw. I’ll do my best to answer any questions!
I am giving myself tons of chances to get on the green in regulation and the scores are showing that. This driver set up has changed my game.
In today’s nine-hole round, I used driver on five holes and hit five fairways — and was positioned in the correct portion of the fairway to set up the best approach shot angle to the pin. I simply cannot ask for any better than that. On a tight, narrow driving hole, I feel just as comfortable and confident hitting driver with this shaft as I do hitting 4-wood.
There is no question that, for me, this shaft likes a smooth transition. As such, I’ve added a little wrist bow move at the top that adds a split-second pause in transition. The D30 has responded to that with an extra 6-8 yards on a consistent basis.
As stated numerous times, and mentioned above by @JonD, the sky blue shaft POPS against the black TSi2 head. It is gorgeous and has a high-quality finish look.
Bottom line: the Hzrdus and Tensei shafts are on the golf shelves in the garage and the Velocity is in the bag.
You nailed it on the feeling comfortable just pulling driver on holes you normally would not! Nice 9 holes @Puttmaster
This is kinda where I’m at with it. I can get aggressive and go after it with my other setup and I think the potential is a little greater. How much is up for debate. Knowing I have to be smooth with this one has forced me to settle down a bit. If I ever go back to a two driver setup, I could 100% see gaming this in the second driver as it’s consistently left to right for me, which kills an entire side of the course. I’m not near done with this one though. It’s still strapped as my 1A option right now.
Ditto! ?
The orange shaft looks good! I have had a lot of rounds now with the Kinetixx and no reason to consider taking it out of the bag. Thanks to @mtbloco for the pic.

Thank you sir I appreciate that. It is a bummer that it didn’t work out but that is why there are so many choices right! I am so happy with this shaft and my FW shaft it makes me want to try the iron and wedge shafts also lol. I was super lucky it fit so well for me And I was chosen to test it.
Hit five of six fairways. Had probably my best drive of the year on 14 — a piercing, tight draw that split a narrow area between bunkers and trees, leaving me a flip SW to the green — but then promptly followed that with my patented drop-the-right-shoulder high fly to right-center field on 15. Finished with tight draws on 17 and 18 that gave me center of the fairway approaches on the last two holes. Can’t ask for more than that!
After three months of having it in play, the Velocity shaft no longer feels "different" to me; I guess I’ve fully adjusted to its unique profile and now it seems "normal." By that I mean … I know what results to expect from the feel of the swing whereas, initially, the swing feeling and the results didn’t always match. (Gosh, this shaft is hard to explain!) The original hesitancy to aggressively release the club through impact is gone; now it’s just let ‘er rip and the Velocity delivers.
Have you played that head before?
Will be interested in your thoughts. I wish I had a TSi1 head; I think it will be a good match. I’ve tested in TSi2 and TSi3; preferred the 2. Good luck!
In the tech studio I have. While it wouldn’t necessarily fit me in the regular driver spot, for the shortened one, my 2nd driver, it fits in well.
Looking forward to see how it treats you. From the onset, I’ve had a suspicion that this shaft would be perfect for the second driver spot. It all but eliminates the left side for me, which would make lining up down the left and fading it back in pretty easy. Especially in a shorter profile. I’m keeping it as is for now though.
It might be perfect for both spots for me. Generally I have played a Project X custom in there, but will be dropping this one in for a try.
That is going to be a cannon of the tee! How short do you play the second driver at?
43.5 is perfect for me and something with a bit off offset in that spot
Not to get too far afield here, but this makes a ton of sense to me with the second driver. Will squirrel this thought away in case I ever decide to try the 2 driver setup again.
Still want this color, but not sure I should change flex after another beastly day off the tee.
I’m being serious when I say, I believe that is absolutely the key with this shaft.
The first week or two or three just blows your mind and you don’t know what to think or do. So you tinker up and down, left and right, fast and slow, and so on.
And then, finally, you tell yourself, "what the heck, just swing the damn club," and it performs like an all-star.
Yup. It’s witchcraft.
