To this day, even after years, if you ask most people about Tour Edge Exotics, one of the first things out of their mouths will be about fairway woods. It makes sense given the fact that they absolutely revolutionized what a fairway wood could be, but at times it seemed to almost haunt the company as they tried to show how much more they were than that.
This, to me, is why the decision last year with the 722 lineup to adopt the “E” (Extreme) and “C” (Competition) was so brilliant. It allowed Tour Edge to be all the things when it comes to Exotics, and that includes letting the fairways have the spotlight they should have while also showcasing just how good their hybrids are.
So, to see the E and C designations return with the Exotics 723 lineup for 2023 certainly adds to the excitement to see what is up their sleeves for fairways and hybrids.
Tour Edge Exotics E723 Fairways and Hybrids
The E723’s are all about “Extreme” forgiveness and making the most playable clubs for the golfer who wants easy launch along with predictable distances and tight dispersion. First off, while the E723 driver offers Tour Edge’s hosel adapter for adjustability, the E fairway and hybrids are both bonded. Much of that decision comes from wanting to ensure the CG placements were going to offer golfers who will look to the E-Series in the new Exotics release the most optimal performance benefit.
That is where the MOI+ Design technology comes in, using a 10g weight located in a single sole port, Tour Edge has pushed the center of gravity as far back to the trailing edge as they could making for a 5% increase in MOI from the E722’s. That weight is also going to serve as an opportunity for fitting with 5g to 21g options also available for purchase after release.
Ryzersole Technology is back and still runs from the leading edge to the trail edge creating a subtle but effective sole rail that lets the E723 fairway and hybrid pull the CG lower to make it launch easier from the tee or turf while still retaining playable spin rates for more average swing speeds.
The faces for both clubs are constructed out of maraging steel which behind them has the Diamond Face VFTdesign. For the fairway, there is now 61 diamonds over 5 thicknesses, and the hybrids at 41 over 3 thicknesses. These diamonds are key in expanding the sweet spot vertically and horizontally, especially with the thinner heel and toe sections this time around. Finally, both clubs use a Carbon Crown setup which of course means more weight saved to be put elsewhere in the design.
The E723 Fairway comes in priced at $279.99 with loft options of 15.0 (RH/LH), 16.5 (RH), 18.0 (RH/LH), and 21.0 (RH). They come with stock shaft options of the Fujikura Air Speeder (L, A, R) or Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 65 w/ Xlink (R, S, X).
As for the hybrids, the E723 touts 2 through 5 options (17, 19, 22, 25) with the 3H being available in left hand as well. Three stock shaft options consist of the KBS Tour Graphite 50 (L), Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue Hybrid 65 (A, R, S), and Project X HZRDUS Black Gen4 80 (5.5, 6.0, 6.5). Price on the hybrids will be $249.99.
Tour Edge Exotics C723 Fairways and Hybrids
On the other side of the Exotics 723 release, the C-Series fairways and hybrids are all about precision and power. The C723’s features a lot of the same technology we previously broke down in the E723, with some important differences.
Here, MOI+ is replaced instead with what the company calls their Flight Tuning System with the focus being on dialing in things for the exact fit each player needs. Part of that is the use of Tour Edge’s adjustable hosel unlike in the E723, but the other part is all about weight. The hybrid uses a 10g weight much more forward to get a more piercing yet workable ball flight, while the fairway is using 20g of total weight over two sole ports located in front and back (15g/5g) to offer up to 200 RPM of change. As was the case with the E’s, there will be additional weights from 5g to 21g available through Tour Edge after release.
The Ryzersole Technology is present though perhaps most impactful in the fairway where it is a whopping 90-grams with 75 of it being tungsten to slam the CG as low as it can go. This is what seeks to give that renowned Exotics firepower to the C723’s with easy launch and maximum ball speed potential. Of course, the subtleness of the rail-like design down the middle from face to trailing edge also means more potential from the turf, not just the tee.
Diamond Face VFT gets to flex its muscles in these compact clubheads as it remains the most under talked about face design on the market, in my opinion. While the amount of diamond trampolines on the back of the faces remains the same as the E723 (61 in fairway, 41 in hybrid) they are built behind a maraging steel face in the hybrid, and an all Titanium face for the fairway.
By all implications, the C723 Fairway looks to be a rocket-launcher as not only is there a massive amount of tungsten, but the face and body are 6-4 Titanium blended into a full carbon fiber crown. Combine that with full loft adjustability and the ability to flip the sole weights and there is a lot to get excited about. It will be available in 13.0 (RH), 15.0 (RH/LH), and 18.0 (RH/LH) with +/- 1.5-degrees of change. Stock shaft options are the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue 65 w/ Xlink (R, S, X) and the Project X HZRDUS Black Gen4 (5.5, 6.0, 6.5). The C723 will come in priced at $329.99.
The hybrids will definitely turn heads as well with the C723’s being a mere 100cc, making them one of the most compact on the market. This is a players hybrid with the squared toe look to them. The hybrids will be paired with the same KBS Tour Graphite 50 (L), Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue Hybrid 65 (A, R, S), and Project X HZRDUS Black Gen4 80 (5.5, 6.0, 6.5) options. The hybrid will be priced at $269.99 at release.
The Details
Tour Edge will be releasing their Exotics C723 and E723 on 3/1/23 along with the drivers and irons within the lineup as well. As you can see, there may not have been a more balanced and well-rounded lineup from Tour Edge yet. Somehow, they continue to evolve and do it in a way that keeps on pushing. Will the performance match the tech once again? Keep a keen eye on THP for thoughts and feedback very soon!
The E723 21 degree fairway wood has been so easy to hit. I really love it.
The C723 13 degree fairway wood that I purchased with the same Tensei AV Blue 65S shaft as an alternate tee club has been mystifying to me. One day I will hit it beautifully and the next will be nothing but hooks.
I know that it is my swing, but I really don’t like to have to modify my swing to accommodate a club.
My swing speed has increased a fair bit since starting The Stack System in Mid April which I feel might be causing some issues now with my club set up.
I‘m going to be trying out a different shaft in the 3 wood when I get back home from my lake place.
The shaft is one that I’ve been wanting to try for awhile. It is the Diamana Thump 75 Stiff fairway wood shaft.
It is a bit heavier than the Tensei AV Blue 65S with a similar bend profile but maybe has a stiffer tip and slightly lower torque.
Looking forward to seeing if some tinkering might straighten things out for me like it did with my Cobra LTDx 15 degree 3 wood that I play at 16.5 with the Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7S.
The C723 5-wood continues to perform beyond expectations off the tee, and off the deck it’s just a matter of if I can put a good swing on it. I’d really like to give the hybrids a try, and if TEEm Tour Edge does get hybrids I’m pretty sure I’d go with the E723 22* 4-hybrid. Everything I’ve heard about them sounds like another real winner, and I’m likely to give one a try whether the TEEm gets them or not.
I’ve had a few chances to hit the C723 5 wood out of the rough. Sitting up it is pretty solid, and I’ve hit a couple with the ball siting down that were pretty successful at advancing the ball. This is probably my best shot with it out of the rough:

Due to a combination of distractions that are life, I haven’t played since fathers day so I’m anxious to get back swinging the C723 3w again. I had developed a case of the lefts but today I put in motion shaft testing to really see what this thing can do.
First up is the new UST Mamiya ProForce V2 65gm F4-S flex.
Chosen because of a key statement UST makes about this shaft ‘Low torque design to help eliminate hooks’
I played with @Browndog today and hit his E723 7 Wood. I loved how close to the ground it sits. The back was a little more pulled back and triangular than I’d typically seek out but I could live with it. I also hit his C723 strong 3 wood (and my 5 wood) and I prefer the sound of the C model. To my ear the C has a well rounded titanium sound where the E has a little more “tink” to it.
Every time I play the C723 5-wood I’m getting closer to getting another one so I can carry two of them. I’ve been playing this one at 19.5* for a while now, while also carrying a 15* 3-wood, and they play well together. When I was playing the C723 at 16.5* I was hitting it just as far as I hit my 3-wood, and was hitting the jacked 5-wood considerably better. I’ll probably switch the C723 back to 16.5* for a while to confirm this, but I’m really starting to think this would be a great combo for the top of the bag. I’d just have to be real careful that I’m pulling the right one for the shot I’m playing (maybe different colored grips and different head covers).
Range session finally tomorrow, proforce v2 is ready to go and my other adapters have arrived so I will have a couple different shaft options around to try.
I got out to the range this morning and had another pleasant experience with the E723 3 hybrid. Started off with a little more draw than I’d like, but opened up the stance a touch and started hitting some high, straight bombs. I can’t get over how easy this thing is to launch for a 3 hybrid. I also appreciate the consistency with the carry where all decently struck shots were 200-205, even some out towards the toe that didn’t really deserve it.
I’ll also agree with @JB where this thing just wants to be hit hard. The feel and the forgiveness make you think that you can give it a little extra and it won’t be too penal if you miss the center of the face.

Now I know what it means to have the right setup, both the ProForce & Legacy 6 got this to launch, high and straight with worst being a late fade.
Tried getting LM data but a storm rolled in so microphone couldn’t pick up the shots.
Started with 15gm rear but as the first good shots were so high with both shafts, moved it to the front which helped bring it down some.
Initial data looking like 103-105mph club head, mid 150mph ball speed for averages around 265-270 yards, 37 to 3850 backspin.
Love it today, this should keep it just down to figuring out which shaft to put in.
Took the Tour Edge C723 13 degree fairway wood to the course yesterday with a couple of shafts to try. The shafts are the Graphite Design Tour AD UB 6S and the Diamana Thump F75 Stiff.
Yesterday the Tour AD UB 6S shaft felt much stiffer than I expected. The Diamana Thump F75 felt so good and performed well too.
Today I played a practice round and played from one set of tees forward from normal. Used the C723 13 degree fairway wood with the Diamana Thump F75 Stiff shaft off the tee on every hole and after a few holes it was becoming automatic. It was such a good feeling!
Very excited to have another option off the tee.
But now I have a dilemma because I have to figure out what I would take out of the bag or do I just keep it in reserve for certain courses.
For those who’ve hit both, is the E723 3W an upgrade over the E722 3W?
The C723 13 degree three wood with the addition of the Diamana Thump F75 stiff shaft continues to completely change my experience with this club.
It is quickly proving to be “the club” when I absolutely have to hit a fairway.
Although not quite as long as the C723 8 degree driver, which is to be expected because of the loft difference, it is still plenty long enough off the tee and my accuracy is proving to be remarkable with it.
The C723 5-wood continues to perform beyond expectations, especially off the tee. I’ve moved it back to 16.5*, and at that loft it is an easier to hit 3-wood replacement with comparable distance. The Ventus Red 4T 50R shaft has worked so well I haven’t even thought about trying another shaft in it.
Hands up apology first and foremost, I had planned on giving a review of the first real round with the updated C723 3wood but life got in the way.
Used it last Sunday and ignoring 2 shots that were full operator dumb dumb, this is a weapon to use.
From the tee this club is lethal, easily carrying 260+ when hit well. The diamond face is so so so forgiving and the one time out of some rather lush rough thanks to a crap topped tee shot, it cut through so easily.
One hole we have is wet all the way left, need a solid & straight 250yd tee shot from the white tees to be safe, pulled the 3 wood and shot scope had it at 301yds and just in the fairway, not hit a 3 wood ever as good as that!
Love it.
Another chance to put the C723 3w in play yesterday, this is truly becoming a comfortable go to club off the tee.
One messed up tee shot that the reload showed it was all me as usual.
One slightly toe draw tee shot that I was lucky it slowed up in the rough before a hazard was the only other miss and both bad shots were me not comfortable with my setup.
Really love easy this club launches and is so straight, point and shoot. I’m actually pulling it more than the driver lately.
Interesting little discovery this morning with the C723 5-wood. I’m playing tomorrow with a friend that likes to play a scramble, so I figured that kind of practice round would be a good time to finally try this thing with the heavy weight in front. So I go to change the weights this morning, and when I pulled the 15 g weight out I found that it is messed up. The weights use a socket head style screw, so the hole in the weight is a counter-bored hole, and it looks like the counter-bore hole was too deep, not leaving enough material at the pilot hole diameter, and it must have failed when I put it in the back position when I first got the club (cone type tensile failure). So now the failed part of the weight looks like a lock-washer, and there is no longer a shoulder for the screw to seat against, it just falls straight through. I will be calling customer service in the morning, but I’m playing tomorrow, so I tried to rig it so it can be used, I’ll just have to check it after each swing to make sure the weight hasn’t come out.
Here are some photos, two with the weight, the failed part of the weight, and the screw, the last one has the failed part sitting back where it belongs.

My 15g weight did this too. I ended up wanting to get a heavier one anyway so I didn’t worry about it, but it’s a bummer.

That’s really strange to happen to 2 weights. Are you moving them around a lot or they just failed?
Should I check mine?

I moved them when I first got mine, then again today, so only twice for me. I’m thinking that the standard tool puts too much torque on the screw for the design of the weight, because the part of the weight around the screw does not come in contact with the club head, the perimeter of the weight is all that is making contact on these particular weights, so with too much torque something will go, either the failure we’ve seen, or the screw. ????

Have you been tightening up to when the torque wrench clicks?
I only do my weights till snug, think there’s too much torque any more than that.

IIRC it was in the first week when I was tinkering a bunch. It happened while I was torquing it and didn’t work after, so if yours is still attached I’d say no need to check it

I don’t remeber if I clicked the torque wrench, but it came loose that first day so I did tighten it up more than I originally thought was necessary. I’ll be asking customer service about this tomorrow and see what they recommend.

Yeah, as they’re for weighting and not impact like the head screw anything just over tight should be enough.

So I just got off the phone with customer service, a new weight should be here by the end of the week, I’ll just keep a close eye on this one and hope it doesn’t come out during a swing until the new weight shows up. I did ask about how tight to go when putting the weights in, and he said to use their tool and tighten it until it clicks once. I don’t think I’ll be going that tight after this experience, and hearing that the same thing happened to @willplaysgolf . Great customer service though!
One minor, cosmetic thing I’ve noticed with my C723 3w, the face definitely marks up quicker than the C723 driver face.
Does not effect performance in any way, purely cosmetic.
Struggling to find total number of shots in the Shotscope app but best estimate is in the neighborhood of 18-25.

So the new 15g weight showed up today, another example of Tour Edge’s great customer service, and it’s in the 5-wood and ready to go. Unfortunately I probably won’t get to play again until next week, I was planning on playing today but can’t get away. The new weight does look different than the original, from the bottom side, so maybe they realized there was a problem and made a change. I put them both on a scale, and both came in right at 15g.
Live round updates for the C723 fairway today, 2 shots so far, first was a nice and straight, in the fairway on a short par 4 leaving me under 100 into the green, 2nd was a cpl feet off the fairway in the second cut leaving 145 to the middle, both holes were par save and a nice birdie on the #1 stroke hole.
More to come.
Played in the Southeast Georgia Seniors Interclub match today at Blueberry Plantation golf club in Alma, GA.
I mentioned in a different post that I was likely going to play the C723 13 degree 3 wood as my tee club due to playing from the forward tees.
Well that is what I did. Benched the E723 7 wood and added the 3 wood. Only hit the C723 driver today once. Was trying to drive the green. Should have stuck to the game plan.
This was a net event so I ended up playing as a scratch due to my handicap adjustment.
Started on hole 9. Shot 73 today, 34/39.
The C723 13 degree 3 wood continues to impress me. Best ever 3 wood off the tee for me.
I played the C723 5-wood yesterday with he hosel set to 16.5*, and the heavy weight moved to the front position. I don’t expect this weight setup to work as well for me, but I still want to test it out. Only hit it twice, once off the tee, and once off the deck. Off the tee it was similar in distance and trajectory as what I was seeing with the weights the other way, but I did see more of a fade than I do with the heavy weight in the back. Off the deck it was a straight low bullet, which is what I usually get with a fairway off the deck that isn’t grossly mishit.
I’m hoping to get out again this week, at my home course where I’ll use it at least three times off the tee. I’m actually going to try to draw a tee shot on the double dogleg par-5, which would be great if I can pull it off, although I’ve pretty much never been able to draw my long clubs on purpose. I’ll be playing when the course isn’t busy, so intend to hit several tee shots in my attempt to draw one around the corner, and if successful I’ll probably be declaring this to be one of the greatest golf clubs of all time. If I fail I’ll just move the heavy weight back to the back position, and still declare this as one of the best fairway woods I’ve ever played.
Okay, so that experiment is over, I can not purposely hit a draw with the long clubs. I tried a couple draw setups off the tee, and I get a beautiful straight flight with great distance, but pushed right. I’ll just move the weights back to the way I had them, with the 15g in the back, and take the added forgiveness I really need, and forget about trying to work the ball off the tee. It was fun to try though, and I’m sure better golfers could work the C723 Fairways either way with that heavier weight in the front.
I really wanted to post here after 2nd round of CC but I was beyond horrible across the bag.
Still love this club, but the entire bag is taking a timeout ?
The C723 13 degree 3 wood that I purchased continues to be phenomenal off the tee for me.
With the heavy weight in the rear, hosel set at neutral and with the Diamana Thump F75 stiff shaft it is terrific.
I have temporarily taken the E723 21 degree 7 wood out of the bag so that I can have the C723 13 degree in the bag instead.
The E723 7 wood is also a great club for me but according to Arccos I’m only hitting it maybe once every ten rounds. I just don’t have the yardage that requires the 7 wood very often on my home course. It does get switched in and out of the bag for different courses though.
C723 5 Wood has been a steady performer, mostly as a tee club. Pretty happy with my Shot Scope tee numbers for the year:

I haven’t had tons of chances to hit it off the fairway, but today had a green light into 18. Sadly I pulled it a touch and missed the green which I was bummed about.
I’m also playing the C723 4 and 5 hybrids which slot between my 7 iron and 7 wood, and I’ve had some good shots with them the last couple times out. 2 rounds ago, I missed left off the tee and had a low branch in front of me I had contend with and was about 175 yards out. Was between a punch 7 that I didn’t get think would get there, or a punch 5 hybrid that I wasn’t sure I could keep low enough. Ended up hitting hybrid and pulling the shot off where I had a stress free 2 putt from the fringe.
Today with the 4 hybrid I had a nice second shot to a par 5 to about 15 feet. On the next hole I just missed the green and used the 5 hybrid to snuggle it up to a couple feet.
Out of all the Tour Edge clubs I think I’m most excited to play around with the the c723 19* and 23* hybrid. I’m really hoping the the 23* can replace the 4 iron in my bag. When I hit the 4 good it’s great but lately I have been pretty inconsistent with it
I moved the 15g weight back to the rear position of the C723 5-wood yesterday, still set at 16.5*, I hit it well with the heavy weight in front, but have been more consistent when it is in the back. No opportunities off the deck, but three tee shots with it, two were long and in the fairway, the other just missed and was a bit shorter than usual (first swing of the day off the first tee). This thing is so versatile, I’ve hit it well at all three loft settings I’ve tried it at, 16.5*, 18*, and 19.5*, sound and feel are exceptional, and it’s long. At 16.5* it is at least as long as my 15* 3-wood, at 18* it is too close to the 3-wood to have them both in the bag, and at 19.5* it is just right as the next club after the 3-wood. Right now I have the C723 in the 3-wood spot at 16.5*, with my 18* Cleveland Hy-Wood in the next spot, and that combo is working very well, but as I’ve mentioned before, I could easily bag two C723 5-woods, one set at 16.5* and the other at 19.5*.
Back out this weekend finally, playing a course I haven’t in a long time due to reconstruction activities so will be looking to get this working well quickly.
I had a fairway shot recently with the 5 wood where I hit it kind of on the low heel. I rarely miss a club there and typically the results aren’t good, but I was happy to see it still manage to chase up on the green. Otherwise it continues to be a solid tee performer, which most rounds is all I need it to be for 1 or 2 shots.
I added some weights to my C723 4 and 5 hybrids and shortened them a bit to try to hit them a little shorter based on how I want them to gap in the bag. Sometimes when I’ve done this with other hybrids the results haven’t been great, but there seem to be no ill effects with the C723s so far. In my last round I used the 4 hybrid twice to go for the green in 2. 1 shot hit the green and stopped on the fringe and the other stopped on the green, and both lead to 2 putt birdies.
i’m really looking forward to testing this 3 wood
A couple more rounds in the books with the C723 5-wood, and one was the rare occasion where there were no opportunities to hit it. Today’s round was back at my home course, so I had the usual three tee shots with it. Two of those tee shots were as good as it gets, carry distance and direction were as good as I can do, hitting the right place in the fairway to get a good downhill roll to a perfect flat lie for the approach shots (a little off in distance or direction can result in a tough downhill lie). The other tee shot was okay, and safe, in the fairway just nothing special.
After a couple of less than fun rounds, back out today, C723 3 wood in the bag and so far, range was nice and first shot in anger was an absolutely crushed 250ish uphill to be 10-15ft short of the green.

Of this year’s lineup I’ve tried, the C723 hybrid is probably my favorite
My clubs from Tour Edge arrived today (thanks again @JB, @GolferGal and Tour Edge for giving us the chance to win these. To be honest I haven’t gave them much of a look over the years partly because I think I probably have the only set in Northern Alberta! I played around on my sim as soon as I finished unboxing everything. I have heard good things bout the fairways and hybrids and I have to say I am super impressed. Not only are they long they look and feel great. I will post more thoughts as I spend more time with them over winter. I really wish I had a chance to hit these outside before the snow fell.
I am really liking these hybrids, love the compact look. Feel and sound are great. 15* 3 wood ain’t bad either amd think it will be a cannon on the course. I have a couple holes on my home course where it is going to come in handy. It’s going to be tough deciding between my tsr4 wood and this.

I have the 18* C723 5-wood, and lofted down to 16.5* (4-wood loft) it is incredible off the tee. I have three holes at my home course that require less than driver off the tee, for me anyway, and this setup with the C723 has been the better than any other fairway or hybrid I’ve used for those tee shots.
I’m gonna do a little tinkering to see if the C723 5 wood can stick in the bag this year. I hit it really well off the tee but felt like I could get a little more out of it in the rough and fairway. Also with my current setup I need to hit it a little shorter for gapping. Thinking about going a little shorter in length and lofting it up. After playing for a year in -1.5 it looks kinda closed going higher in loft but I think I can adjust.
Taking my terrible process to setup and the fact we are on mats here, I love this 3w when I get it right.
This is an absolute rocket launcher of a club, solid sound of the face, forgiving out of the heel or toe.
Round use for the first time in 2024 with some holes this will be absolutely perfect for off the tee or second shot.
Anybody still playing the C723 fairway woods?
I’m in the western Chicago suburbs, so Tour Edge is local for me. But I’d never really given their clubs much of a chance, because I’m a lefty and historically they haven’t been great at offering much for us. But at the Chicago Golf Show this past weekend, I got a chance to demo the C723 driver and 3 wood and really liked both. The 3 wood, especially, sort of seems to be what I was hoping Titleist’s TSR woods would be. Shape seems perfect to me, and it felt good off the face.
I was thinking of trying the 3 wood and 5 wood, and maybe even a 4H … if for no other reason than I have some credit at a major retailer burning a hole in my pocket and want to try some new gear!
I still have the C723 5-wood in the bag, and it will be staying in the bag unless I get a test/review opportunity for something else. I have it lofted down to 16.5* (standard is 18*), so playing more like a 4-wood, and have also played it quite a bit lofted up to 19.5* where it kind of takes the 3-hybrid spot. I’ve actually thought of getting another one and keeping them both in the bag, one at 16.5 and the other at 19.5, they gap pretty well like that, and at 16.5* it is as long as my previous 15* 3-wood.
I was meant to update this thread after my first round Sunday.
This is a solid, solid club again, even with all the rust of winter trying to be shook off.
For me this is a solid off the tee club, long and straight now that I’ve figured out the shaft and weight set up. Forgiving off toe & heel strikes, middle strikes disappear down the middle.
Do not look past these clubs.
