At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
The Equipment
This compact, multi-material players’ iron provides added distance with control while increasing workability and forgiveness. A tungsten toe weight adds forgiveness to improve accuracy, and a stabilizing bar offers distance control. The custom tuning port is made from a thermoplastic elastomer for a soft feel and sound at impact.
THP is looking for 3 people to test these clubs out and write reviews on them for our online community. At the end of the testing, the irons are yours to keep. To get involved and sign up for testing, click here.
Good luck and THP is looking forward to the reviews for golfers, by golfers.
These irons are simply stunning. Can’t wait to read the responses of the three lucky testers!
What an amazing opportunity from THP and Ping. These are a simply stunning set of irons, I can’t wait to hear how James and the others see from them while gaming them!
Thank You THP & Ping for the incredible opportunity to test these. Definitely looking forward to hearing the feedback of the testers. Best of Luck everyone.
Great looking irons. Been a Mizuno fan for years but would love the opportunity to try these out. Thanks THP and Ping for this opportunity!
I demoed the :mizuno: mp54’s and really want to see how these are, before I decide!
I’ve demoed the PING S56’s in the past and was impressed with the ease of shot making throughout the set. The distance was probably 5 yards shorter than other manufactured clubs, but they made up for it with pin-point accuracy. Curious to see how the S55’s would respond with X-Stiff shafts.
1. What irons are you currently playing? PING i15
2. What is your natural shot shape with irons? Draw
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons? AWT w/Stiff shafts
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons?
1/2+ over standard length and 2.25 (green dot) degrees upright.
Hey VAGolfer2013, if you are looking for a slightly stiffer shaft, I would recommend the ZZ65 or 5.5 precision rifle shaft (not the project X). You said you were pin point accurate with the AWT (a lighter shaft). Both the ZZ65 and the 5.5 original rifle shafts are lighter than most, are stiffer than AWT and will still preserve the buttery feel of the s56’s. I fit these clubs often and always see folks ruin clubs with shafts that are too stiff or heavy. Get a heavier head like a D4 swing weight and you will be in love.
I’ve been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any
interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough
for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you
did, the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
