While every facet of Callaway’s designs in recent years have been incredibly successful, when it comes to the Rogue/Mavrik release cycle, fairways have always managed to be true showstoppers. So, for those wondering if that trend might continue, you can sleep easy now because these Rogue fairways aren’t a watered down version of anything, these are fairways with all new tech in them…all three of them.
Callaway Rogue ST MAX Fairways
Yes, marketing is marketing, but according to the Callaway R&D team these are the fastest fairways that they have created to date, and it all has to do with the fact that it is totally different than anything they have ever done before.
It all starts with Jailbreak. Now, yes, you have heard that before, but really it truly does start there with the new Rogue line as this is an all new take with Jailbreak ST. You see, this is a truly unique variation on Jailbreak, and it is one of three different designs used in the Rogue lineup. Thanks to A.I. Optimization, Callaway looked for a better way. That way is actually placing two structures at the absolute heel and toe perimeter of the clubface to keep the vertical stiffness, but totally free up the Face Cup to work without constraint. Translation? Same stability and retention, but with way more ball speed creation.
The next design step is the use of a Tungsten Speed Cartridge, and though the name is the same as the one used in the Rogue ST drivers, the placement and shape here is totally different because a fairway is totally different than a driver. Here the weight is placed in the front extreme perimeter and not the rear, 27-28g of tungsten to be exact, which helps create a low and forward CG in the fairways. This placement optimized where most miss on a fairway wood, low, and helps maximize playability.
Also, A.I. face optimization is alive and well with every single head in each of the three lines having a totally unique and one of a kind design. Using a new high strength C300 Face Cup, which has been used by others before but is a first for Callaway, they have been able to further prioritize speed, launch, and spin in both creation and retention.
Callaway Rogue ST MAX D Fairways
The name says it all here, these are the highest launching and most draw weighted fairway option of the Rogue ST release. These are for the golfer who needs and seeks the most shot shape correction, beyond just draw bias as the face angle, loft, and lie of this design is also optimized for this segment of player through the companies extensive fitting matrix.
The MAX D is available in both RH and LH in 3 (16°), 5 (19°), and 7 (22°) wood models.
Callway Rogue ST MAX Fairways
This is the model which will appeal to the largest portion of the bell curve, this is the fairway wood which is all about high MOI in an easy to launch off the tee and turf package. The MAX maintains a neutral overall ball flight and a lower leading edge face shape with a lower heel and toe visually to inspire confidence for a wide range of skills. Callaway has also massaged the shape here to make it as appealing as possible to more golfers, including those of higher skillsets.
There are seven options in the Rogue ST MAX fairways, 3 (15°), 3HL (16.5°), 5 (18?), HW (20°), 7 (21°), 9 (24°), 11 (27°) with all but the HW, 9, and 11 woods being available in LH.
Rogue ST Max LS Fairway Rogue ST Max LS Fairway
Callaway Rogue ST MAX LS Fairways
I think by now we all know what LS stands for, these are the lowest spinning of the three fairways models for Callaway in the Rogue ST arsenal and essentially are the LS and Triple Diamond joining forces. The shape is a Tour Preferred one like the SZ of the past with more camber in the toe and heel as well as a slightly deeper face and smaller footprint which makes it a serious tee option. The club also has an additional weight screw low and forward to make it tunable as well as even lower spin. This will be the option for those looking for a low spin rocket launching tee club.
The LS comes in 3+(13.5°), 3(15°), 3HL(16.5°), and 5(18°) with the 3+ and 3HL being RH only.
The Details
Each of the new Rogue ST MAX fairways will be available starting 2/18/22 and come in at $349.99 and standard shaft options will be as follows:
- Lightweight/Women’s – Project X Cypher Black (40g, 50g)
- Mid Offering – Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue (50g, 60g, 70g)
- Low Offering – Mitsubishi Tensei AV White (60g, 70g, 80g)
We will have a plethora of in-hand information and feedback from golfers just like you coming to the THP Community very soon, so stay tuned!

It’s the AW that broke at the Hideaway too ?
Since the PX RDX Smoke red was back-ordered until 6/23. I asked my Callaway rep if I qualified for the 150% trade-in and he said yes.
I then ordered the 3 wood LS with a Ventus Red shaft as the trade-in bonus took the sting off the Ventus $price.:)
I played a 3+ the last three years but developed a low hook with it. Hoping the LS and Ventus Red will alleviate that. During my iron fitting last January I had good results with the Red when we tried drivers. But never purchased at that time.
Got a great deal on a Ventus Red for my driver from a THP member and still had good results with it. So decided to put it in the 3 wood and UW 19°. Now will have to wait until they arrive.

And ya, that was my point. When one of the best fitters in the world says ‘we were hindered a bit by the bonded hosel’ on the fit I’m like

because I don’t love that for myself either.

How much weight savings is gained through a bonded hosel that can be used in the head weighting?

Not as much as it costs me for a better countinual fit.
It’s grams, but it’s definitely not insignificant. We’ve gone over it in here, or one of the similar threads. Any weight saved can be used to benefit. I just don’t want it taken from there if it sacrifices adjustability.

So so so many questions. Does not feel like the data quality we are used to for sure. But even then. Rogue end average numbers seem higher than any of the shown hits. And as far as I can tell they only did 26 swings across 5 heads including his original.

Yeah. And yet probably relatable to many on what they experience comparing clubs.
Rogue ST LS 3HL shipped today. Really looking forward to hitting this after seeing the results here on THP.
Received notice that the LS 3w shipped today. Looking forward to seeing it.
Interesting video. Pretty good conversations at the end about upgrading and off the deck vs. off the tee performance. I forget why I went into a room so that tee vs. deck was a nice reminder to look at both sides of the coin.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but it actually has been fun for me to see a tester who isn’t a scratch to plus handicap, with moderate swing speed. Those 3 wood numbers are right about what I would expect to see, so it is relatable.
I’ve got my eye on this one. Very curious.
Last year I was fitted at Club Champion into a Epic Max 3 wood with a Ventus 6 Velacore shaft playing at 44”. And wow when I’m good with it I’m great. But, I had some low hits with it that robbed me of some distance here and there but a little more than I liked. Prior to that I played a Callaway Rogue Heavenwood at standard which was old reliable but of course distance was almost to that of the 3 Wood. For those not familiar with Callaway’s Heavenwoods it’s a fairway with the loft of a 7 wood but the length and head size of a 4 wood. I’m taking a chance and ordered the Rogue St Max 3 HL with the same shaft specs and swingweight as the 3 wood from last year and I ordered a Heavenwood with the same shaft and similar specs but at a half inch shorter than the 3HL. The 3HL will will play at 44” long with a 16.5* loft. The HW will play at 43.5” long with a 20* loft. Hopefully this experiment works out.

I would think you’ll see more ball speed on the Rogue STs, and a little more forgiveness on that low miss. They also won’t be quite as draw biased as the Epic Max. Keep us updated on your experiences with them, this will be a good one to follow!
Definitely want to hear more about these – my main hesitation is that these are all bonded. I’d like to get a shaft and keep it for a few iterations. I wish more OEMs had interchangeable shafts in hybrids and fairways
Same issue I have with Cobra as well
My 3 wood got held up due to the severe weather. I wish that severe weather was here. Our drought persists, although it is very cold. It will arrive Monday. It looks like it is warming up next week into the mid-40’s. I may actually be able to get it out on the course.

My LS 15 degree 3 wood arrived today. I don’t know when I will be able to swing it, but the balance feels great on some air swings. The club looks fantastic, too. It inspires confidence in the setup position. I am really excited to get it out and hit some real balls.

So been doing some looking as my gapping in my fwy woods isn’t quite what I want it to be. Thinking at the end of this season or sometime this year moving from my Mavrik Max 3w to a Rogue ST Max 3HL and then replacing my 5w with the Apex UW 19*. I think that would give me just a tad better gapping between my 4-iron (22*) and the next club. I love my Mavrik Max woods, but normally if I’m in the 200-215 range, I have to pull the 5w, choke down and lay off on the swing. And as far as a 3w goes now a days, I think the 3HL in the ST Max would be the right gapping.

I got out for a round with the new LS 15 degree 3 wood in the bag. I hit it twice off the tee. I was pleased with both shots. The first one felt so easy and it flew on a perfect, high draw that came down right on my intended target line and traveled 275 yards (see below). The second one I missed quite badly, but the shot still went about 235 and left me a 9 iron from the fairway. The club looks fantastic, sets up well and I remain excited to work with it, particularly when it is a little warmer and my body feels a little more loose.
