What some may not realize, Callaway has been consistently at the top of the game in terms of sales when it comes to both hybrids and irons, and the Rogue/Mavrik release cycle has always been a significant reason for that. However, as is the case with the drivers and fairway releases of the Rogue line today, don’t make the mistake of thinking this is any kind of filler release, this has all the technology and then some which Callaway possesses.
Speed is the name of the game here, though there are some twists which are sure to surprise.
This is what Callaway is calling their fastest family of hybrids yet, and it’s done with some very cool internal technology.
First, each model is using the new Jailbreak ST which is entirely different than that used in the Rogue drivers or fairways. As the hybrids have unique shapes, A.I. showed that so too should the Jailbreak applied. These clubs actually have two jailbreak speedframes pushed to the far perimeter of the heel and toe versus being located in the middle. This was done because Callaway found it would maintain the vertical stiffness they desire, but also stay away from the Face Cup to let it flex more, which means more speed while keeping stability.
All of the hybrids in the line also have up to 18g of MIM’d tungsten, of which there was none in the Mavrik hybrids previously. This has actually been placed internally because it is towards the toe and externally might draw some question and preconceptions, when in reality, it is there because that counterbalances the elongated hosels of the hybrid to keep things in balance.
Finally, all three models have unique A.I. face optimization with the new 455 high strength Face Cup. But not only that, every loft has a unique A.I. face making for thirteen totally one-of-a-kind faces through the three hybrid designs. These are created to optimize spin robustness (how much spin is maintained) and have done such via Callaway’s testing about 130 RPM’s and a whopping 1.5° of launch.
Best yet? All three options, well, technically four, do independently unique things.
Callaway Rogue ST MAX Hybrid
This is the longest of the hybrid options, it has slightly stronger lofts and will fit the golfer who is looking for speed, forgiveness, and all around performance. The ST MAX does have the squared off toe and lower leading edge which many have become accustomed to from Callaway, and it also has a more iron like face groove design as well.
The ST MAX will be available in 3H-6H (18°, 20°, 23°, 26°) loft options.
Callaway Rogue ST MAX OS and MAX OS LITE Hybrids
Want maximum forgiveness in your hybrid? Then this is your ticket as the MAX OS has the largest shape of the three with the most mass moves to maximize launch while offering tremendous speed and playability. There are also the most loft options here, along with the most draw bias.
This is also why I mentioned there being four options, as Callaway is offering the OS version of the new Rogue hybrids in two different types with the LITE version being higher lofted and lighter weighted for women and amateurs who could benefit from such.
Both the Max OS and Max OS Lite come in 3H-8H (OS – 19°, 21°, 24°, 27°, 30°, 33°, and LITE – 21°, 24°, 27°, 30°, 33°, 36°).
Callaway Rogue ST PRO Hybrid
Finally, there is the Pro. Obviously, this is the most neutral CG of the line, and it is meant to offer more workability as well as fighting against the dreaded left miss (for righties) of better players with hybrids. The Pro also has a more fairway wood shape to it with a rounded face absent any square toe and a significant amount of camber on the sole for turf interaction a lot of better players look for in a hybrid.
The Pro will be available in 2H-4H (18°, 20°, 23°) options.
Why of course there are irons! In fact, right in line with the hybrids there are three (technically four with the LITE) different options which Callaway thinks they allowed them to hit all ranges of golfers. The irons are “Speed Tuned” and are one of the most advanced Callaway has created.
That claim starts with the industries first 450 A.I. Face Cup. This is not a new material to irons, but it is new to the Face Cup application, and its strength means even more speed and speed consistency is now possible for Callaway. Similar to the hybrids, every single face in every single set here is totally unique thanks to the A.I. design supercomputer, meaning every club is optimized for the specific way most amateurs use it (and miss with it too). This new material in the Face Cup has also allowed more spin, speed, launch, and a 13.2% tighter dispersion, not to mention Callaway is actually weakening the lofts in the longer irons because of what is has done.
Additionally, there is a lot of Precision Tungsten Weighting in each of the models with up to 62g in a single head, and 250% more overall than was used in the Mavrik irons. That is a lot of tungsten, and yes that matters a lot in club design. This added weight means more precise placement is an option which helps optimize every single iron.
Finally, the witchcraft which are Callaway’s patented Urethan Microspheres are not only here, but there are more of them than ever before as the company worked to make sure they reach higher up the face (6th groove versus 3rd/4th previously). Because of the way they deform with no resistance, the face still gets maximum flexion while keeping the dampening which makes them sound/feel good.
Callaway Rogue ST MAX Irons
These are the “core” model of the three sets, and Callaway is calling them their longest ever despite actually making the lofts weaker than the Mavrik irons in the longer irons. These offer that in-between realm of offset, topline, and sole width which will work for the biggest segment of golfers. These look like a Callaway iron, through and through.
The ST MAX irons will be available 4-PW, A, G, and S.
Rogue ST Max OS Iron Rogue ST Max OS Iron
Callaway Rogue ST MAX OS and OS LITE Irons
The biggest and burliest of the offerings, the OS and OS LITE are also the most forgiving with the widest soles, enhanced offset, and overall profile that will help golfers who need launch and playability. These are aimed at the mid to high handicap golfer and the OS LITE option is a lighter swing weighted version that also has 3° more loft through the set to further maximize launch for golfers who need it.
Set makeup for the MAX OS is 4-P, A, G, S and 4-P, A, S in the MAX OS LITE.
Rogue ST Max Pro Iron Rogue ST Max Pro Iron
Callaway Rogue ST PRO Irons
Finally, the Pro, and this is a Pro which actually looks as such. This one is sure to turn heads as it looks very similar to the Apex Pro and is likewise a hollow body design with all the bells and whistles packed into a tidy little package. This is a players shape with stronger lofts offering more workability but still a maximization of distance. For those curious, it isn’t as forgiving as the Apex, but it is stronger lofted than the Apex Pro, sitting it right in the middle.
The Pro’s will come in a 4-PW, A option for set orientation.
The Details
Both the Rogue ST MAX hybrids and irons will hit retail everywhere on 2/18/22. Hybrids will come in at $279.99 and the irons at $999.99 for the base set. Shaft options include True Temper Elevate MPH and all new Project X Rifle shafts in steel, and Project X Cypher Black as well as Mitusbishi Tensei AV Blue and White in graphite.

Anyone got any use with the PX LZ 105 shaft?? Thoughts??
The Max’s are without a doubt a longer iron than I’m used to. Able to fly my 9i in winter what my old 8 used to avg. at. The sound on these is where I’m in the air on as I’ve been pretty keen on knowing how my shot will be before it lands but struggle a bit with these in not knowing what type of a hit I put on the ball when these leave the face. Will say even a less than stellar shot still produces much better outcomes off of poor strikes than what I’m used to in the past which is a great thing to add to the positive column on these along with how straight these fly.
Just just ordered a set of pros. Hit apex, p790, mizuno 921 and was leaning towards the apex21. Wasn’t even considering the rogue pros because the pro badge scared me, but my fitter had me try them. Wow was I impressed. Best feeling irons I have hit in years. Getting away from steel shafts, and the recoil 95R worked best for me. 2-3 weeks out. Looking forward to my new sticks.

View of Max OS #4 beside the ball for reference.
I played Sunday and though my driving was erratic it was the best iron striking day in recent memory. I had 5 good putts for birdie (converted only one) and hit more greens than I usually do. Lots of easy pars. Even on the tough par3 17 which was over water and into wind I put my shot to 12 ft and just missed the birdie putt. These Rogue Pros with the rifle 6.0 shafts might be the best irons I’ve ever played. I shot a low 80s score which is much better than I was expecting from a cool, early season round.

I would have to agree with you they are the best irons I have ever owned. The feel is so good and they are way more forgiving that they look!

Well…had notification that my irons shipped out on 2-16 and it was delivered today, 2-18. BUT, looking at the box before opening, I knew it wasn’t my golf irons. The tracking number matched with the order that was shipped for my irons, BUT when I opened the box, the only thing in the box (from Callaway) was 1 dozen of Callaway SuperSoft golf balls. Called Callaway CS and only info I was given is, they would have to check with their shipping Dept and file a claim with UPS courier. I was like why file a claim with UPS, they delivered what your shipping Dept sent. So all they could tell me at this time is, they would check into it with their shipping Dept and either send out another set or refund me and they would let me know next week.

FINALLY…my Callaway Rogue ST Max replacement irons arrived today. The Callaway Rep did a great job with understanding the shipment error made by the shipping dept. and re-submitting my order and got these out quick. Putting them in play tomorrow as it suppose to be a beautiful day and near 70 degrees.
I’ve had a few range sessions with the Max OS hybrid and I’m consistently finding the left of where I start. It’s a really consistent shot which is definitely a positive as it’s repeatable. I tried to purposely slice with the head and it hit a fade but was unable to find the right unless really going for right field. This would be a terrific option for those looking to upgrade or find a different option to a B21 or that style of a hybrid. The ease at which the hybrid keeps one side of the course out of play is quite remarkable to see and should be a positive for those who struggle with a slice in the swing, would probably recommend trying the Max or Pro if the hybrid typically goes toward the left.
I had a great round yesterday with my St pros and my 4 pro Hybrid. I had more GIR than i have ever had before. I am settled in with the new clubs. The smoother the swing the better the performance. I just am amazed at how forgiving they are and the distance i am seeing. It has taken a few rounds to get a feel for the distance they go. The whole Rogue line is incredible!
Played yesterday. Rogue ST Pro irons continue to be the biggest surprise this year. Distance wise, they may be just a smidge shorter than Apex from 2021, but similar to Apex pro. I also think they feel better than Apex pro, which blows me away. The Rogue ST Pros continue to want to go straight, even on mishits, I was rarely too far off my line. On par 3 17th yesterday, 183 yards, my 5 iron ball mark was 4 inches right of the cup, and stopped about 12 feet away.
About stopping power, i’ve noticed the mid and short irons are much higher trajectory for me, without losing any distance. I was hitting High balls that would stop quickly, or in several cases spin back. Granted our greens are still soft from winter, so I’ll be quite interested to see how these do come spring/summer when the greens get firm and fast.

Rogue ST Pro hybrid 20° with a Tensei CK Pro White 90TX! So excited to have this for 2nd shots on long par 5s and long carries
My last round with the Apex pro irons I birdied 2 of the last 3 holes which is not normal for me. That now makes 3 straight rounds with at least one birdie or eagle.. these irons are so freaking good. They have me excited to see how my scores progress as we get into the warm season!
I am still wanting the Pros to be my irons for the year. Everything about them screams that they are perfect for my needs. My question continues to be whether I picked the wrong shaft when I went with the Catalyst 80. My issue is that I keep hitting them consistently a groove low. I am for sure going to wait until the weather warms up enough to be able to get some better practice time outside on real grass before making any changes.
Had the clubs back at the range this morning and can’t say enough about how easy the Max is to hit, and most of all elevating them is so easy. Managed to get some great swings on the Max OS 4H as well and could reduce the far left hits with the hybrid that I had seen previously before. Still manage to have a few far left swings but managed to keep the majority in a good place. Sound on these is difficult for me as it typically would tell me my strikes before but the Max is definitely a louder iron with a click that doesn’t always sound how you hit it. With that said the irons fly really straight and launch easily which is a joy to hit as they perform really well.

I have been playing SteelFiber i95s. I had Catalyst 80s in some irons and they worked great, but they were in the Epic Forged and those are built to a longer spec, which I believe got the swing weight up to where I could feel the head slightly better.

Interesting. I’ve been fit into Modus 105 for years and played last year with MMT 95 in my Apex 21 irons for the entire season. In November I had a session at CC and it showed I was launching the irons too low and with too little spin. At the ECPC I was fit into rifle shafts (105gr). I’m seeing a higher launch and more spin again. Sounds like going lighter might be affecting your strike as well. Do you have another set of the steelfiber i95s that you cab swap in if it doesn’t improve?

Shaft weight can make a huge difference and my sweet spot has always been in that 95 to 105 gram area. I don’t have any, but will order some if I don’t adjust.
I have been looking for a more consistent 5 hybrid to get about 185 yards.
Picked up this beauty today

Was seeing some very nice numbers in the sim.
Launch coming in 18° to 18.9°
Spin Ave 3500
Carry 170
Total 188
Was seeing a nice little draw and just felt the club gave really good forgiveness on my mishits.
Looking forward to getting this out on the course soon.
The pro hybrid is really good. Has fade bias which is nice
Popped into DSG last night looking to hit the Max fairway. When that wasn’t going well I grabbed the Max 3H off the demo rack.
These look great behind the ball and must be uber forgiving based on the numbers. I was getting 200-210 total carry and roll, and a few out to the 220-225 range. I did not deserve those numbers based on the swing I brought with me.
Well done Callaway. Fairways might be the star of this line, but the hybrids are pretty damn good too.
Was hoping to test out some of the hybrid options outdoors on a trackman today, and order something to replace my 4 irons, but snow killed it. Hopefully next week.

The whole Rogue line is incredible. Everything I have hit just works so well.
Have I mentioned how much I love these Rogue Pro irons lately? I went off cold Friday evening and had par on 2 of the first 3 holes. My swing was off but I was on or near the green all round long. These are the best performing irons for my miss that I’ve ever used. On the good ball striking days I have had more looks at birdie than I’ve had previously. When my swing is off I still have looks at birdie and a lot of looks at par.
I have hit the Max OS a couple of times. I really like how forgiving they are for me.
Local golf shop doing a 50% additional trade in. With my trade in, I could get a set of the OS for less than $300. Not a difficult decision. And if I order now, I should have them around the time the season starts here.

I hit a couple of shafts. The Cypher 60 was the one that the fitter recommended. He liked the trajectory and distance I was seeing. The stock Tensei was good too but my trajectory was lower with that shaft.
I’m looking at going 6 iron through GW (that’s 6-9, PW, AW and GW).
It’s $232 with the trade in.

Perfect time to take advantage of the extra 50% trade.
I’ve really come around on being able to hit the Max OS 4 hybrid without worrying about a left miss. This club launches well and provides decent roll out on strikes to maximize your yds and takes the floater right out of play. The height of the face and toe is comforting in that you know you’ll make a great contact with the ball and it’ll definitely be moving forward. Like the other clubs in the Rogue ST lineup the crown on these is matte and Callaway has really outdone themselves in regards to how the ball looks compared to the face during setup.
Want to single out the 5,6 irons in the Max series since typically they’re my weakest irons in the bag being they are the longest I typically carry. The peak height that I’m able to achieve is really noticeable in these in that they launch high and are easy to get there without maximum effort into it. The sound is not as noticeable to me but is still there and I’m not able to pick up on strike location like some other irons to register with what I feel in my hands but with that being said no matter the location they are able to move forward in the correct direct and maintain distance on less than stellar shots which is nice as I’ve been known to hit those more often than not.
Tried some hybrids out today and just couldn’t get things going with what I expected from them. Not necessarily their fault, I’ve struggled with hybrids for a while. It’s why during the Grandaddy it was suggested to go with the Apex UW by my fitter, and that’s been a huge success.
my problem is that I’m just not hitting the 4 iron as well as I want. It’s basically just another 5 iron for me at this point, as I can’t quite catch it clean enough to get more distance consistently.
I’m going to try hitting them again this weekend to see if I want to order one, but I’m not optimistic yet.

Range Day! Launch is the word of the day. Focused on making really solid contact and these will get out there. They really do launch well in all the irons but is most noticeable in the longer clubs as they have a towering peak height. Really getting along great with the head/shaft combo and look forward to the season to see how they perform on the course.

Congrats! Can’t wait to read your thoughts.
For the first time, I had a chance to get in a good practice session with the Rogue ST Pro irons. This is what I was waiting for, before making any decisions. While my miss was still a groove low, what I was seeing today made me glad that I did not give up on them. They were awesome. The ball flight was gorgeous. It tended to be quite straight and high, but not ballooning. The dispersion was good. I was using the PRGR hand monitor. I am not sure how accurate it is, but it surely was reading things close to what I saw on TrackMan indoors, as far as club speed and ball speed. I doubt that it takes into account elevation. Anyway, here is a typical 7 iron:
