I work in the security field, a DVR is used for recording security camera's, a PVR is used for home use. Its not so much a Canadian thing as an industry thing based on what I do for a living.

Glad I came across this thread as I hadn't set up DVR to record it yet. I'm at work but luckily I can do this via cell phone. However, I probably won't watch it until I'm off night shift.
 
We use DVR's in America. Stop trying confuse everyone breeze.

Of course. But Im going to sit by the tv and start/stop so I dont have to deal with commercials when I watch it later.
