Summer temps must be rising. Seems like more and more forum replies have an added "testiness" to them. There are definitely some folks on THP, including some long time members, that need to take a chill pill.
You get to golf with elmo?Perfect example of whyi love golfing with this guy.
I can't believe this is a thing, but it's called Old Dog Vestibular Syndrome, and our girl has it.
The wife and son are there in the back with her visiting and just called to say she looks a lot better. The eye twitching (Nystagmus) has diminished and she's a little bit more stable on her legs. She apparently now tilts her head to the left and they say that may be permanent. I'll take it if she can just start walking and get back home.
I watched some video on YouTube about ODVS and it appears many dogs recover in a week or so with some in-home rehab.
They still want to keep her tonight until some blood work comes back. Hopefully, we'll have her home for the weekend, and beyond.
They said someone would probably have to sleep with her on the main floor of our house because she can't do stairs, of course, and we have to keep her food and water nearby.
The wife gladly volunteered. She IS a mama's girl, after all, so the pooch will be happy.
Joy, for now.
I have to rant about this..
Playing a local public course today, taking the new irons out to get used to them, and I'm playing alone. Guy says "we have leagues starting at 445. If u can get around and make the turn by then you'll be fine." So I proceed to play 9 holes in about 1:15. I come to 10 tee at 350. He goes "there's 4 foursomes who just showed up, you'll be following them." Wth!?! Shouldn't I have the right of way on 10 tee? I just don't understand people sometimes...
Needless to say, I got a rain check for my back 9.
That's great news!!! Sounds like she is on the road to recovery. A mom's love is a very special thing, I am confident your wife will have your dog back to normal in no time.
My father called to tell me that my grandmothers dementia has quickly become so bad that her doctor is fearful for my grandfathers safety. Apparently she has been attacking him She's seeing a senior specialist next week to see if anything med-wise can be done to help. Until then family needs to keep a very close eye on them.
Then my wife called to tell me that the power in the kids bathroom was out. Neither her nor her father could get it back on via the fuse panel, so he has to come back tomorrow to take a further look (he's a retired electrician).
Now, she just called back AGAIN to ask which plumber to call, as the faucet in the back of the house is spewing water everywhere, won't shut off, and she can't turn off the valve inside the house to stop the water supply to it.
Happy Friday.

Tough day Russ, I hope the weekend is better!
I know all too well about dementia, and sadly one of the 'side effects' is aggression and physical violence. I am seeing it with my grandfather too. He was the kind of guy who wouldn't even kill a fly, never raised his voice or had a negative thing to say about anyone and now he is in a 24/7 secured Alzheimer's facility and they had to remove his roommate because he got too violent. It's such a sad thing to watch happen to your loved ones.
So sorry to hear that Morgan.
It's odd it has had kind of a reverse effect on my other. At times in the past she could be very mean and tough on my sisters. In an almost spiteful cruel way.
Now she is the sweetest lady you could meet. Never complains or has a bad word to either of them. Just caring and loving things to say. She's very appreciative of where she is (an assisted living) and for what health she has left.
