New TV and a Special Thanks

I have been living without a TV for the last 3 months. This has been great for my productivity in writing and studying, but has sucked in every other way that you can imagine going without a TV would. I got a 51 inch Samsung Plasma and a Samsung 5.1 surround. This is where the special thanks comes in.

DMB really came through for me yesterday. After I finally decided on the TV I was going to get, I realized that there was no way I was getting it into my little car. I called him up and pleaded for help. That dude was there for me. We laughed because I was putting all this expensive stuff in his car when he had only been an internet friend till about 2.5 months ago. He helped me take it up to my 3rd story apartment and helped me put it together when it was getting late. This is the power of THP because I never would have known him had it not been for this site. I think I owe him a round.

Man I don't think I could go that long without TV. DMB is an awesome dude!
 
Way to go guys! I'm sure there were no alcoholic beverages consumed during the installation of your new entertainment center, lol
 
It was no worries dude. I almost took a left to go to my house on the way to yours. I then remembered you came over for a beer on Friday. You would have found me. HAHA It was good times and it looked like a sweet TV. You almost had me OEMing a TV while I was at Best Buy. That one thin one was awesome. It was thinner than my iPad!
 
Great story guys, glad to hear the bonds of THP are strong! I feel the same way about a couple of local friends I've made thanks to the site.. Have laughed off leaving my valuables around them without even thinking about it before! It really is amazing how strong this community is.
 
Very cool - DMB is definitely a good guy!! Love seeing experiences like this.
 
I thought you were going to say DMB pulled up in a van and gave you a good price on the TV since he had "extras" he needed to sell. haha. I still laugh when I see this happen in parking lots in Durham.

We actually did not consume anything because I have nothing in my place. I suck.

I saw that new TV lust in your eyes man. That one TV was so very thin. 55 inches and thinner than my iPad. Sick

Absolutely great for golf! Winter is coming and I won't have any time to get to the course after work except to chip a little bit. I am thinking about November 11th when Skyrim comes out.

haha. This is my first flat screen and good surround system. I can't wait to go home and play some games on it today.

Hey DMB are you available sometime next week? I need to get pickup a new TV and get rid of my 200+ lb tube TV in the living room. Beer included..lol Seriously though that was a great gesture and shows why THP is so great. Everyone is willing to help out a fellow member.

Great stuff DMB, thats what great about this forum. Why wasn't chunky lover there helping? Lazy Chunky.
