He's out practicing, and as an MD his job keeps him quite busy.

Let me 1st say, this is not about Ary, its about this last statement.
But everybody in this event has a job. Some have multiple jobs or jobs that take up lots of hours.
Some are self employed
Everybody is practicing.

They are all finding time to be a part of the event on the forum.

Like I said, this is not about Ary, but nobody needs to have someone make excuses for them because they have a job. Quite frankly that is ridiculous and I know Ary himself would not have done that.

For the stars of the team, why not go with the captains on each side? I'm sure that neither of those guys want to be the captain of the losing side, and for that reason, I think that both of them will put up really strong performances at the Morgan Cup.

Agreed! I fully expect both captains to bring their A games to this event and having seen both of them play I know they both have game.

Wow. Where did that come from? Take a chill pill. It was tongue in cheek. I know everyone has a job. I know everyone is practicing as hard as they can. I know everyone is busy. Relax dude.

Agreed, TC vs Biggsy is the match on singles that has to happen.

No doubt, but the sad part (not that sad since we'll be playing :D) is that we won't be able to be in the gallery for this match!

I also think a dark horse for Team Paradise is DDec. I'm betting he's going to have a solid weekend.

LOL, ya not sad, but I get what you're saying! Its too bad we are going to win the whole thing after the first two singles matches because a final group, TC vs Biggsy for the whole Morgan Cup would be EPIC. Oh well, we will have to just take our blowout victory.

Haha...ok, that's fine I guess.

Interesting question Sean, I like the answers so far too, I think they're all pretty spot on. I haven't played with enough guys from either side to be able to give a thorough breakdown but I've got a couple of projections as well.

Darkhorse from Team Hackers: I could easily pick JRod but he's getting a lot of nods already, so no knock on him but it's hard to be a darkhorse if you're also the chic pick. I think JRod will be a tough draw, but I have thought that all along. I'm going to go with DirtyDawg. He might be taking several takes to hit those shots on video, but then again those might be first takes and the guy can play. We'll find out!

Darkhorse from Team Paradise: One-T. Everyone knows he's a funny dude and that chicks love him, but the guy is going to be one heck of a ferocious competitor on the golf course. I can't wait to see him tear into someone.

I really don't know about the rest, the pressure thing...heck we're all going to feel it and we'll all have holes that we don't play as well as we might typically play. Everyone deals with pressure differently, some strive and play their best and others can't get the damn ball on a tee they're so nervous. One other thing is that I know that we'll all be pulling for each other to play well and have fun, that's the most important thing in my opinion. It is going to be a great experience.

I'm sure he is, just not to the forum! Hello, Ary, are you there?

I'm around big man, just got tied up with work this morning and then played 9 holes and got some practice in this afternoon. I was more active in the forum earlier this week, I guess people got used to that type of posting frequency. I'm looking forward to facing off with you and CG13 on Saturday morning, though from what you've been posting, I guess ddec and I are going to be 30 yards behind all of your drives. Oh wait, there aren't any huge downhill holes at Reunion, so I guess we'll be even with one another.

I thought the match that had to happen was me vs. Mr. Yappy from Ohio?

I've never claimed to be long dude, I'm no Biggsy, Belbin, or Jrod, just 250-270 in the middle of the fairway all day. The Superfast 2.0 is legit though and is giving me the extra yardage that I need. You have been around big fella, remember, always under promise and over deliver.

You've all made some cogent, honest remarks regarding your fellow players. And, many of you commented on how players may or may not handle the pressure. That seems to be the great unknown doesn't it?

That reminds me of my brother growing up, his goal in school was getting C's so that whenever he did better than that, our parents would be really happy with him because he overacheived. He was so sneaky.

If you're hitting it 250-270, then you'll be in front of ddec and I, we'll just have to be on with our irons. I'm just happy that there won't be a Wal-Mart between our tee shots and your tee shots, or whatever weird equivalent to Wal-Mart is in Canada. Is that Tim Horton's?

Whats a Wal-Mart?

Whats a Wal-Mart?

Gigantic low cost big-box store. Basically, the joke goes that if one guy's drive is way out on front of another guy's drive, there's a Wal-Mart in between them. Maybe it's like a Golf Town up there.

Haha, I might of taken so many takes that I needed to run home and recharge the Flip before I got a good one.

I kind of doubt that myself. You can play....that's pretty clear from that swing. I have a feeling our paths will cross at some point in the matches too, should be fun.

Whats funny is we have the worlds biggest Wal-Mart right here in Victoria BC, apparently there is one almost complete or just complete in NY that will beat it out, but it just opened and its ENORMOUS! The wal-marts we had before were big, but it was a big joke around here that our small Canadian City, has/had the worlds biggest walmart.

Finally a little golf talk. I love the last few pages. Tough for me to make predictions because I haven't played with anyone in the event.

It seems clear that TC and AHA should perform well. JRod and DDawg67 have the young guy fluid swings that I envy. I've teased Coolbreeze about a weight shift, but he actually smacked the crap out those wiffle balls with a fine swing. Sounds like AD hits a ton of fairways. CG13 sure works hard, and OEM sounds like he's getting back into the swing of things. I get the feeling JRod may be tough as nails. I think Coolbreeze is cool enough to handle himself when the lights go on. That will be the key for the others, too, but I don't have a good enough read to make more definitive comments. Not near a good enough read to predict someone is going to fail.

On my team, it's obvious biggsy is fiercely competitive, and really intense. I expect him to do really well, but he's going to want it so bad, he may need to take a step back and take a breath a time or two during each round. I hope he doesn't mind my saying that. Since I'm old I'll take the liberty to remind him when we're there.

Rbelbin is another young dude with a swing I wish I had. From the shots I've seen him hit on video, and from what I know of him from emails, there's not much holding him back. I think he's ready to go really low, like 68 or 69 low, he just needs to believe he can do it. Start thinking you can birdie every hole young Jedi, because the way you hit it, you can do it. Hit the damn thing in there and walk up there knowing you can make it.

Jake takes some heat for his "FL record". Another guy that really wants it. I hope to get him in a practice round and make him laugh. I hope he doesn't press down there. You can tell there's some serious intensity there, and he's going to want to do really, really, well.

Yoocos is going to rock it down there and play better than he probably thinks he can. Because he really seems to know how to have fun. And that's exactly what he should do. If he has fun and doesn't worry about much else. He'll be fine. we're going to have a blast in the first match.

Ary has really stepped it up in the forum, and I think it's starting to come more naturally. He's another guy I hope has fun. That swing looks damn good.

Ddec seems to have the right attitude. Not wound too tight from what I can tell. If he's focused on the course with the swing I've seen, he could be a real sleeper.

One-T. I suspect he might be a lot better than everyone knows. This could be his deal.

Me? I'm most worried about the heat.

Pretty vague stuff I know, but I don't know anyone personally. Thise are just some impressions I have. There are five or six swings in this 16 man group that in my opinion are really, really good on the videos I've seen. They look like swings that can put up some good scores. A few guys will shine.

Kevin

FIFY, dude.

Well maybe the captains can tee off an hour or two later- so they can follow the guys for 9 holes- observe and interact. Then start their match later,

We would most everyone done for the final back nine. So there could be some team support following them.

Well hopefully it doesn't last 18 holes hehe hope TC closed him put early.

But you get my meaning.

Start their natch a little later so people can follow the final match on the final day- an it's Manu a Manu- capt Vs capt.
