UPDATE! TESTERS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED! STAY TUNED FOR ANOTHER GREAT FORUM TESTING SIGNUP COMING UP SOON.
At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
Earlier today, THP Live (if you missed it, watch above) had guest David Neville from Callaway Golf on to discuss the latest lineup of equipment and answer your questions. During that stream, we mentioned giving a bunch away to THPers to test and review on the forum.
Each participant chosen will receive either a new driver or hybrid from the lineup. Your job will be to review the new Big Bertha B-21 for a period of 30 days. Like all of the forum testing, you must be able to check in daily (or close to it) to discuss and answer questions. At the end of the testing period, the club is yours to keep.
How to Sign Up
We will select 10 THPers to review the equipment. (5 for each)
What is your current driver and hybrid?
What do you like most about what Dnevs said in the live stream?
We will announce the testers next week in a new thread on the THP Forum and then get these shipped out to you.
Would love to tryout a new driver! I
Would love to try the hybrid as I am currently going to change it in the next couple of months. I don’t just use it for long shots, I also use it around the green where I want to get the ball over the fringe but then roll like a putt.
Also, I’m a left handed player.
I like how the Callaway staff had me in mind and were more excited to design a club for me than the average tour pro. You’d think they get better returns making clubs that’ll improve tour pro’s game, but cool knowing they would rather help me as a weekend golfer.
Callaway Epic Flash 10.5 (N, +1) with APW in the heel. Tour AD-IZ 7x shaft.
Callaway Big Bertha 3H & 4H (N, S). Tour AD-DI 95 S shafts.
What do you like most about what Dnevs said in the live stream?
I really perked up when he said that the Bertha driver packs the spin profile of the Flash SZ with a TON more forgiveness. Sounds so unique.
Regarding the hybrids, loved the amount of perimeter weighting they jammed in there.
Love seeing the Big Bertha name coming back and in a Low Spin and Point it where you want it to go sounds great to me.
The part of the live stream that stuck out the most to me was Dnevs comment about how easy the Big Bertha hybrid is to hit comparative to some of the other Callaway hybrids and I would love to test that out.
Real shame – quality information is worth watching.
I am assuming 30 days of testing means 30 daily testings?
I’d prefer to try the driver, even though testing it for 30 days could be costly if I were to use the course driving range, while purchasing range balls. Fortunately I have open areas available, and plenty of my own "free" range balls to accommodate 30 days of testing @ 30+/- balls a day.
Obviously there would also be rounds played with the club.
I’d like to swing a draw biased driver. Never done that before.

What do you like most about what Dnevs said in the live stream?
Dnevs mentions that this is a new approach to game improvement. Rather than testing purely on PGA pros or low handicappers, this is approachable for high handicappers and it rethinks weighting and forgiveness to get the desired low spin. It’s really exciting to see the passion and the thoughtfulness that went into the development of the driver and makes me really want to try it out for myself.
Hybrids: Taylormade Burner 2.0 – 24* 21* and 18* Regular Flex.
Like the low spin and draw bias to prevent right misses!
Hybrids: I currently carry a Cleland Mashie 3, an Adams Speedline Super S 3, and an Adams Speedline Super S 5.
The most intriguing thing said, and the most intriguing thing I’ve seen in general about the B21 line is the slice reduction capabilities. That’s the biggest reason I stopped playing a driver…I couldn’t keep the ball in play.
What do you like most about what Dnevs said in the live stream?- I’ve been struggling with a small slice for a couple years. The Draw technology in the driver sounds like a god send. And if the Hybrid is as easy as you say it would be a great replacement as I really need something to help with my long iron play.
I really appreciated and was curious about the draw technology. I tend to roll my wrists at most swings and overcorrect at my club stance. So I’m curious to see how it plays out.
I play a Taylormade SIM driver 9* on the super draw setting and upright so I can get all the help I need with a fujikura pro 2.0 6S.
I play a Callaway super hybrid 21 set to 22 draw setting. Stock stiff shaft.
What do you like most about what Dnevs said in the live stream? Love that they talked about AI technology and how this helps design the club.
I liked when Dnevs said that the Big Bertha driver is the kind that you can point it where you want to hit it. I have felt my current driver being a bit flimsy and slicing the ball has been a problem for me. I have had to aim more to left in my harder shots to compensate for the slice and it would be great to see how the Big Bertha could help me with that.
