I know I don’t like the ‘21 CSXLS and I like the ‘22 CS. I just am not sure if I am giving anything up by not playing the ‘22 CSXLS.
Not really sure how to answer this one. I’m very much a feel player around the green. When I’m chipping best I like to toss the ball high and land it about 6ft from the cup. When I’m not chipping well I play more running shots. I also tend to be very handsy with my short game so 9f my timing gets off things go bad quickly
Toe is my jam. That is where @mtbloco has his. I tried @jjjgolf500 wedge and he had it in the center and it felt like a different wedge. Could have been a shaft or something, but once I moved it to toe, I loved it.
I didn’t care for the 21 cxsls either, way too clicky. I’ve only played 1 round with the 22 version but I really liked it
We saw pictures and went through an online presentation that people like us normally don’t get to see (only on THP do these things happen).
We will get a chance to hit samples at the event and get fit by CK with sample to know what to order when it comes time to do so.
Just trying to squeeze a few more rounds in this week. Now that we turned in our handicap numbers, the extra rounds will help.
We had a discussion in our team chat on how many balls to bring. The answer ranged from 3 to 3 dozen lol. Almost tempted to start a poll.
Trying to decide between 3 and 3 doz still.
Depends how a couple holes on the lake course go. I might start with the BRXS and end up playing a pro shop branded Pinnacle by the end of the weekend.
I love that you guys will get fit for your set vs taking a chance and just ordering what u may think will work best. Curious to see what shafts they will offer
My assumption will be any of the current line of shafts they offer. But as with most everything else out there, supply chain issues may limit what is available to us.
Love that we’re getting fit instead of guessing. Can not wait to try them and then get my set after. Being one of the first handful of people on Earth to have a set is pretty amazing and speaks to the awesomeness THP gives ordinary Joes
To piggyback off this, those that haven’t hit the wedges or even if you have and haven’t played with the weights or been fit, any preconceived thoughts on the setup that’s going to work best for you?
Went back to the old TESTED! video @Canadan did on these and it was interesting to see his data on heel vs toe. @Koske mentioned trappers tend to like the 8g in the heel, whereas sweepers/pickers like it in the toe. Which do you tend to be?
I tend to be more of a sweeper but prefer the weight in the heel. Could just be my whack out swing. I don’t like a club that feels toe heavy.
Interesting. Does the weight impact as much around the green for you or more just on shots where you start to add some distance?
I noticed the toe weight most around the green in my limited trials. I like to sweep short shots and I can get stabby/chunky around the green when I get tense and the toe weight made it just feel better for me green side.
The great thing is that the adjustability seems to help each person differently and it can be moved back if something changes.
Most of us don’t start travel until Saturday. Dinner is Sunday and we compete Monday/Tuesday. I know that I am definitely not ready to travel yet; but I have started packing.
I have not started packing. I have not done anything specific to be ready to go. I am a Class A procrastinator on these things. I will be ready on time.
Cool stuff. I like to sweep greenside as well, and also can get chunky at times, so your comment is pretty intriguing.
Traveling is probably the only part I’m not looking forward to.
My reference to a club feeling toe heavy is more in regard to full swing shots. In my swing the extra weight in the toe causes me to sometimes leave face open. I went thru a putter fitting with the area Edel rep. Was able to work in sometime with wedges and a few shaft options. It was evident in that time spent that I prefer heel weighted. That weighting provided my best results. However most of that time was spent on longer shots. Chipping around the green maybe different.
I’m nearly ready to go. I started packing early. I’m going to be at PGA championship for a couple days so I got a head start on the packing. Arrive back home late Thursday evening. Finish a couple projects on Friday. Then off to Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.
Allow me to provide the soundtrack to that feeling.
I’m fortunate that I’m on a direct flight nonstop straight to Atlanta. When I booked it was only a 100 more to fly 1st class which also gave me an extra checked bag for free
That’s good. Although I guess that could mean you got a smokin deal on a first class ticket or you were getting jacked on a coach ticket.
I’ve checked to see about different flights a couple times but always doubled the cost so I’m right there with you.
I have one length wedges now and my coach was telling me I needed to get rid of them, I said I’m getting new wedges this weekend, get off my back.
They were discussed in both conference calls and got full in house testing info given, which is a first for consumers. They will also be the first Consumers to hit them and then to get them.
THP experiences sure are special
I’ve only been to one (7 years ago), need to change that
A lot and I mean A LOT has changed in the last 3 years in THP Experiences.
