I think you all with enjoy these course immensely. Played them about 5 years ago in a THP event and recall them being very different. Can’t wait to follow along this weekend!
Thanks! I haven’t played them but the RTJ trail has always been on my bucket list. The courses with Edel is a dream come true.

I hope so, this place is Awesome to play and I love following an Experience where i have played the holes…..

Make sure to dive into the thread next week.
Shhhh. Don’t tell anybody, but if this live update thread is awesome, we might do this again next year. Up to this year’s participants to make that happen : )

Lets go boys and girls!!

I had a dream that we got our wedges and for some reason the stamping was messed up on mine so @Koske and @JB said just keep those and we’ll get a corrected set sent to you. I got 2 sets of wedges. Pretty cool deal. So that and then winning the putter. Cannot wait.
They mistakenly stamped it “2022 Quest Cup Champions”? Whoops.
Getting this back to the top. Any last minute preparations for the contestants?

Now that our caps are turned in, I plan to practice this week and go low next week ?
Seriously, my plan was to chip and putt Mon/Wed and I hit range balls today. I won’t do anything Thursday due to a crazy work day, but I may try to play on Friday.
For the 2020 MC, I overdid things and was sore and barely able to finish on Sunday. I am not doing that this year. I would rather go and have fun and play a course on my bucket list with an OEM I love than overdo prep and care too much about having my “A” game.
BTW, as much as @Datkison and I bust on each other in this thread please know it is all in fun and both of us can’t wait to meet each other.

Hoping to hit the course for 9 Thursday evening. With kids sports in full effect it’s been hard to find time to play. Urbana with you guys is my most current round of golf ?

This man finally said something I agree with.

Soon enough the irons will become the stars of the event. We will get to hit demos in the fitting process. Waiting on our irons to arrive after the event might be the worst part. I believe they are going to be worth the wait however.

Irons are new VL irons that haven’t been released yet. Mid June is the embargo date I believe

So we’re going to be limited to exclamations about how awesome the irons are during the live thread with details to follow later? Man talk about a tease :ROFLMAO:
Really looking forward to this! Plus all of my work training will be done so i can focus on this event :ROFLMAO:

I bought SPF 1000 sunscreen and like 200 Tums. Alabama looks a little warmer than I’m currently accustomed to and the food at the last few experiences looks way too good to miss.

We are going to be playing with our own irons and Edel wedges during the live thread. We will be able to sample some of the new irons at the range so we know what we will be getting, but I am not sure how much we can share and when the embargo date is lifted.
so yes, the irons will be a tease. But at least they won’t be in your hands and then yanked cruelly away ?

sadly, not possible…. None within 800 miles.

With expansion of their dealer network there maybe other options.

I am playing the Chrome Soft with triple track. I have a dozen of the ‘21 version and only 4 left of the ‘22. So I will probably play the ‘22 on the front nine of day one and then the ‘21 version on the back and whatever I can beg/borrow/steal for day 2.

Will have the full line of Chrome soft along for the trip. More than likely game the Chrome soft x
Has it been mentioned when you guys will be able to talk about the irons? Have them in hand?

If you have any of the new ‘22 CSXLS, I want to try one to chip and putt with. I keep going back and forth on that ball or std CS.

Haha this is a valid point and didn’t think of it that way. Definitely still jealous of the cruelty you’ll endure.

Nothing specific. I may be wrong, but I think they will start marketing june 15 and they want to get them in our hands asap after. They wanted us to have the opportunity to get fit and try them at the event rather than order blindly to just have at the event.

We will get to hit the clubs at event. Then our clubs will be built and sent to us at a later date. There is a chance that we might be able to share more while at the Quest Cup. Have not been given the green light yet. We are just as anxious as you all are. Trust me we want to tell. 😉

I got you covered with the CSX LS. I plan on bringing a few boxes to play.
As for prep I hope to play Friday then need to get some last minute shopping done. Switch my clubs to my cart bag and get everything packed
For me, my miss tends to be right, not getting the face closed mostly but occasionally path. With it in the toe it felt weird, in the heel was easy.

Piggyback if I may how do you typically chip too? Fade/Draw swing?

I’m working on it. I get too handsy and bring the club way behind me, comes in open and heads right or I PANIC and flip it shut, overcompensating and skulking who knows where.

I typically try to play a fade on most every shot
Note to all — I live about 15 minutes from the RTJ courses that you will be playing next week.
It looks like temps will cool down about 10 degrees vs. this week, so it should be nice and comfortable, in the high 70s, low 80s. Don’t fret about the forecasted chance of rain percentages, that’s the norm around here this time of year. You never know what you’re going to get.
Have a great visit and play well! We will be following along with you!
If I can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out via DM.

My lessons this year have been all about getting me to fade the ball. Typically with chipping I am mostly trying not to skull the ball into the next county.
So obviously the irons are pre release…and you got to see them on the conference call or you guys have them in hand?
