Last year we teased something called Dream Foursome, where you could pick other forum members and go to a THP Experience. We are excited to announce thanks to True Temper and Callaway Golf it is a reality. It’s called Dream Foursomes, because rather than have one group of THPers enjoy this incredible resort, two will be joining us and you will get to choose who is coming!
When and Where
November 8th-10th
PGA National Resort and Spa
Palm Beach, FL
Dream Foursomes
Each person will choose two other THP forum members for a few days at the beautiful PGA National Resort and Spa home of the Honda Classic on the PGA Tour. You will be playing the same course the Pros play for one of the rounds and the other will be played on their soon to be open Match Course. It wouldn’t be a Dream Foursome without industry experts, so you won’t be alone. Each foursome will be rounded out by either Keenan Phillips from True Temper or Jason Finley from Callaway Golf. Two of the best in the business and will be a blast to play with for THPers.
Cost & What’s Included
Cost: Zero Dollars – You will be responsible for your travel to FL, and we will be covering everything else.
Lodging at PGA National Resort
Multiple Golf Rounds
Group Dinners and Breakfast each day
Swag that will blow your mind
How To Get Involved
While signup will be coming soon, it is important to remember your 2021 Albatross Club membership is your key to unlock this and many other once in a lifetime experiences on THP. If you are not a member, and want information on how to join and help support an amazing charity helping children in need, click here.
Itinerary
11/8: Arrival and Meet and Greet Dinner. This will be a chance to meet the other Dream Foursome as well as Keenan Phillips from True Temper and Jason Finley from Callaway Golf. This evening will be filled with food, drinks and your chance to ask anything you want about the brands.
11/9: Golf in the morning and then group dinner where we will get into the gear and talk about equipment.
11/10: The two dream foursomes will hit the Champion Course to tame the Bear Trap. After the round, some lunch and cold one before hitting the road.
If you ever wanted to learn about multiple brands, learn about equipment, shafts, golf balls and more. This is the ultimate way to share this special trip on us, with two amazing brands and we promise the swag for each participant is going to be AWESOME!
How to Signup
Signup will be coming soon and this thread will have all of the details on how and when, but here is the gist of it. When signup opens, you will choose two other THPers that will join Callaway Golf and True Temper for the trip. All three THPers must be members of the Albatross Club to qualify. If you win, they win. This will be open for a total of 6 THPers, so two lucky winners.
His videos are great to watch. So much good information presented in understandable terms.

Wow! That’s pretty impressive!
I’m pumped! In a perfect world I would be playing a bit more consistently going into this experience, but I am confident that I can get my ball around the course well enough based upon how I have played the last few rounds.
I am also very excited and curious to see what we have planned. Every THP experience I have gone to this far has been centered around equipment, so I am real excited to see what this experience has in store. I’m looking forward to cutting it up with everyone and learning a bit about what True Tempter and Callaway have planned for 2022.
I decided I’m going to play the Crome Soft Truvis during the experience. Last time I played a CS I played the CSX TTT and liked it quite a bit. But the online fitting tool said CS, so that’s what I am going with.
I am also bribing the new Epic Max 3W I just had built, and I think I am going to borrow my father in law’s Scotty Newport 2 for the weekend because I just put an ACCRA FXP shaft in it and it’s so smooth feeing.
I do believe @JB mentioned that everyone will be playing a Callaway ball at the Experience, so I believe they may be provided. Just wanted to inform you, since it may be something you missed.
I am playing the Chrome Soft Truvis. As far as Callaway clubs, I have had the B21 Driver, 3W and 5H in the bag all season. I also have two Callaway Full Face Wedges that I just started playing. For True Temper, I have the Cypher shafts in my Cleveland Launcher Halo 5W and 7W.
I am pumped to be in Florida one week from today. My game has been hot and cold, seemingly within each round. Saturday, playing with a fellow THPer, I was one over through 11 holes, but then went bogie, double, bogie, and one more bogie on 16 to shoot 78. However, two of those were really stupid three putts, so I am not that far away from being in a good place.
Regardless of the quality of golf, these experiences are always fantastic for making new friends, learning about equipment, enjoying great food and leaving with an indelible memory.
My irons will be shafted with a True Temper product. I will have two of the newly released Callaway Utility Woods, both shafted with Hzrdus Smoke Black. I have been using a Titleist driver most of the year, but pulled out my Epic Max LS over the weekend and it performed very well, so I will put that it in the bag for some Callaway love. My 3 wood also has Hzrdus blue in it. Still thinking about other Callaway options. Bottom line, a lot of True Temper product and some Callaway product will be in Florida with me.
I started playing ChromeSoft several weeks ago and have really enjoyed both the regular and the X. I gravitated to the X, but could easily play either ball just fine.
It’s my first experience and I really don’t know what to expect. It’s one thing to follow an experience on the forum; it’s another to be a participant. I have followed most of the experiences over the last several years on the forum, but being there is a different story. I want to be able to represent myself and THP in the most positive light that I can.
I’m looking forward to meeting some great people, learning some things about equipment and playing golf on a course the pros play.
You’re going to do a great job in this regard, no doubt in my mind!
I am trying to find out a bit more about the Chrome Soft options, since I am currently in the midst of an existential crises about the ball purchase I made last night.
FWIW, to answer your question, Chrome Soft is the lowest spin off the tee out of the three
if feel is a big thing for you, the LS is kinda funky.
I have hands of stone, but I’ve been able to play both Chrome Soft and CSX and they’ve each been fantastic. Played 5 solid holes with a CSX LS I found before returning the favor. Haven’t gotten to test those on the simulator yet.
Just a quick note, this one is not this weekend. Begins next week
You just blew my mind. Even lower spin than the LS? Wow, now I may need to change my plans.
Funky how? Funky hard, or funky soft? I remember the first time I played a Titleist AVX and I found that to be funky hard.
Sorry, I should elaborate, I will be on Drill from the 6th till the 9th, so that’s my 4 day weekend lol
In our testing, off the tee, yes. Its important to note that spin at largest impact is generally speaking controlled by the core. Chrome soft being the softest compression will reduce spin. Im speaking in general terms of course. LS takes a higher spin ball like the CSX, which is also one of the fastest balls on the market and reduces some of the spin on full swings. Its a brilliant design and one that works well for a lot of golfers, albeit more niche than CS or CSX.
I need to get it on the course and try it out. When TTT first released, I was playing the CSX TTT and preferred it over the CS. But my swing has change a lot with lessons since then, so maybe the CS would be a better fit.
Worst case, I’ll just pick up one of the baker’s dozen of Chrome Softs I left out there on the Champions course during the graphite challenge I was playing the suits set that weekend, so they should be east to find.
Trial should tell you a number of things. Don’t overthink it, enjoy what you like and stay with a single ball once you find it.
I tend to prefer as firm a ball as I can get. The LS felt weirdly hard.
I know that a mistake that I have made in the past is jumping around from ball to ball. I now believe that it is easier to put different irons in and out of the bag than to keep changing balls.
Hmmm. Hard ponder now.
Those would look fantastic with more than a few Callaway wedges.
Competition Details!
Im afraid to ask with his mind all screwy right now haha
