I've started watching 'John Adams' on Amazon. It was originally an HBO series, back in 2008, I think. Paul Giamatti plays John Adams. Ben Franklin and George Washington are recognizable actors. The actor playing Thomas Jefferson is the one that played Harry Vardon in 'The Greatest Game Ever Played'.
Very good show. Love the history. I just finished episode 3. At this point, America is still the 13 colonies. There is open animosity with England. In Ep. 2, the Boston Tea Party (it's not dwelled on. They talk about some angry citizens dumping tea). But, some fighting with the British begins. The first 2 episodes spend a lot of time around the 13 colonies representatives (Congress) meeting and discussing whether or not to play nice with England or break away and from their own country.
