If you have been paying attention to the PGA Tour the past few weeks, then you know about the worst kept secret in putters. In the bag of Jon Rahm as well as being the number one model on Tour the past couple of weeks, the 2-Ball Ten is very real, and it’s actually part of a new Odyssey Ten lineup.
The company is running with the tagline “Shape Matters”, and they could not have nailed it more concisely or accurately if they wanted to.
When Powers Combine
First off, like it or not, the Odyssey 2-Ball is on the Mount Rushmore of putter shapes. This is a design that was the first true outside the box mallet that proved mallets could be beneficial to even the best players on the planet. From there, the floodgates opened, and it finally became OK to push the limits of putters. But how do you take that to the next level?
Well, you have it procreate with another legendary shape of course.
Enter the Odyssey Ten, which yes, is very similar in appearance to another Mount Rushmore putter shape. That said, Odyssey has perhaps perfected it, and since its addition to their arsenal, it has been a hit both in sales and on Tour. Someone who is way smarter than the rest of us at Odyssey had the thought of combining the Ten shape with the 2-Ball, and here we are.
However, it’s much more than that, in fact, the 2-Ball is but a piece of the new line of putters from Odyssey.
Odyssey Ten Lineup
What has happened here in terms of shape is a cleaner overall look, which Odyssey says has been done by things like closing the “windows” which were on the original Ten in order to make for a cleaner visual at address. The blending of the two putter shapes into one makes for what the company believes to be their most complete and effective 2-Ball variety ever.
However, it’s not just a looks thing. The melding of the designs has translated to quantifiable performance benefits as well. In fact, the new Ten putters have 32% higher MOI compared to the original 2-Ball as well as 20% less twisting at impact, 33% more speed consistency, and 44% more topspin consistency. What does it mean? When you miss center, it will be incredibly stable, predictable, and consistent.
A major reason for those last two stats was the decision to go with the Microhinge Star insert rather than the newly revived White Hot. According to Odyssey, the reason is simple, this putter line is about producing the best possible roll. The MH Star is the best pure performance insert that Odyssey has ever made, and it may not be the OG White Hot, but it is also immensely popular on Tour with its notable firmness.
As for the options, obviously there is a Ten 2-Ball which will feature the iconic circles and be available in plain, Triple Track, and also with the much asked about single Tour Line. Understanding that the circles aren’t for everyone that might benefit from the putter shape itself, they are also releasing a Ten Triple Track, and a Tenwhich has the single long alignment line.
The Details
The new Odyssey Ten line of putters will each feature the same updated Stroke Lab shaft which first released in the White Hot OG putters, simply in charcoal instead of red. Additionally, every head style will be available in S-neck or Double Bend options with a blue and grey Odyssey pistol or oversized grip. The putters will all come in at $299.99 on their release.

The tedium of the putter’s name was not lost on me as I typed it out.

Assuming the insert is the same as the current Microhinge Star insert, it’s not "tingy" at all. I’d characterize the sound more as a soft/muted ‘click’.
Yeah, you’re right there. I guess there really isn’t a "ting" sound. I just went and hit my double wide a few times, haven’t played in a year. Would still like to check them out.
I do like the clean look of the single line. As much as I like the Triple track VA tech, I cant get behind it from a looks perspective, but this is very pleasing to the eye.
It is the MH Star, which is their firmest insert.
Thank you for the kind words!
I saw the pix in a different thread & never even noticed the open areas are filled in now. I like this look better. I imagine it might be slightly less distracting than seeing grass through the windows.
I’ve never played a 2-ball mallet in any iteration. Like you, it never appealed to me. But, I’d find it a lot more appealing if it sank more putts, so I’m willing to test it out. Offhand I’d say the triple track Ten looks a little better to me than the TT 2-ball Ten, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
And I never gamed a white hot insert, so I’m also OK with the MH star insert.
Only the Tour Line, and Triple Track are RH only. Odyssey ALWAYS takes care of lefties.
I’ve never been a 2 ball guy either but the new shape of the Ten fits my eye well.
I have this exact one coming.. single line slant neck. Great writeup.. i really like the color combo with the stroke lab shaft. The Callaway guys are adamant that this face is the most forgiving period.. i cannot wait to have it in hand and start putting with it!

Agree.
Only models not in LH are the Tour Line and standard Triple Track (non 2-ball)
Ehhh thats not true. Hosel options are an issue in the mallet options.
It’s pretty true, they take care of lefty options better than 95% out there. I know it’s sucks all aren’t available, but they’ve got to try and produce the SKU’s that will sell. I’m thankful I’m a lefty who swings righty, because it’s for sure frustrating
Not to my knowledge, I know when pics first hit, he was using the MH Star insert that is in this one.
While I too wish there was a WH option, I understand why, this is all about roll.
A far as I know, he does. But as he is a tour pro. I’m sure he could put whatever insert he wanted in there and they’d make it happen. Their micro hinge star is their top performance insert they produce though. This putter was made to be a performer with it’s consistency with stroke and roll of the ball. This insert does that better than the OG WH.
Haha Considering they have the most offerings of any other OEM yet thats not a good thing. lefty heads are almost always only produced in a double bend with a few exceptions. Its like they will offer one additional hosel option for lefties each year and if that model doesn’t work, sorry. It also lends me to believe that the double bend option is a lesser option and most cost efficient for the OEM. I would love a Ten but they only offer in double bend.
Thats not really the case.
Its the most popular.
Not true, the S neck is available in LH other than the 2ball Tour Line and non 2ball Triple Track,
Most popular because its the most offerings? Or more popular because of performance? Im not saying one way or another, Im just asking the question.
Like I said, maybe one offering a year? Currently in the OG seven. But thats it. Im soooo regretting not getting the exo 7 s while I could. May find one on ebay.
Hard to tell. I don’t believe it’s in the most skus. There are a lot of plumbers necks out there.
I get it, less options exist for LH than RH due to the percentages that play. I do however think Odyssey offers most percentage wise of everybody out there.
I actually like the exoskeleton/"windows" look better than the new design (which is good because it means I don’t have to buy a new putter, haha).
Mine is the "Tour Line" (single white line). I’ve tried the Triple Track and while the science behind it makes sense, the single long white line works well for my eye. It’s uncluttered and easy to line up. Plenty of options there for everybody’s tastes, though.
My reply was about the Ten though, you said you can’t get one because they’re double bend only, but they’re not. As for the rest of the releases, double bend is just incredibly popular in both dexterities, so it gets the most offerings.
Like I said though, I get it.
Again, they produce the most amount of sku’s. So it makes sense that they have some options. My beef and curiosity is lack of hosel options on the mallet putters for odyssey.
They only offer double bend for lefty putters.
That is why I said percentage, they do by percentage. I totally understand the frustration, in this instance they listened and have multiple hosel options.
Please list for me the mallet non double bend for me. Bird of prey? Nope Ten? Nope
Seven OG? Yes please add for me
I’m literally telling you, there are slant necks in this release that are lefty. Only two of the varieties are RH only. 2-Ball Slant, 2-Ball TT Slant, and Lined Ten Slant are all available in lefty according to the Odyssey website.
Look at my last post, I’ve been trying to tell you this all day.
Add for you? I’m super confused.
You said nothing but double bend was available for LH. That’s not the case with this release, the one the thread is on.

Even funnier? The White Hot OG 7, in slant, IS available in lefty too. I’ve got it in my cart right now.
These are new and availability is upcoming. I hope that’s correct but I guess our confusion is you are talking about an upcoming release. I hope you are correct.
This thread and the article linked in the first post is about the new line that was announced today. ?
I read it but I didn’t see anything about lefty offerings.
