There is never a shortage of limited edition golf equipment coming out, but few have done this as well as Mizuno. With each iteration of Mizuno Pro over the last handful of years, a new offering has dropped and this year, the Azalea irons, might be their best yet.
Back in January we showed these irons off from the 2024 PGA Merchandise Show, but recently we got an up close sneak peek on the latest limited edition. You will see a ton of pictures of these all over the internet, but we wanted to go a step further and learn a little bit about recent offerings as well as how in the world the Mizuno Azalea irons are made.
We went to Mizuno HQ and had Chris Voshall walk us through the different limited edition irons that have come out with each of the last couple of releases. How the Mizuno Azalea irons are made and what makes them different from the blue version released last time.
Which Mizuno Pro limited edition irons are your favorite? Did you have any idea how the green and pink came to be on the new Mizuno Azalea edition?
For more information on Mizuno Golf or any of their products, check out their website at www.mizunogolf.com.
Those are stunning! It’s always great to see and hear the excitement from Chris Voshall when he discusses the limited releases.
I have wavered on whether I would play these or hang them for display. Well, no way my wife would let me hang them in a prominent position they would deserve, so these babies would get dirty and be played.
Saw a signup for these on Golf Galaxy website the other day. They look good.

Possibly the only time I’d make sure the grooves were completely clean after every shot, even on the range
Those are almost too nice to play, so shiny, yet they would get played so hard. I would hope to get a HIO with one of those for a reason to hang it up.

100% – there is no good reason for iron covers, but I wouldn’t be as vociferously against here.

Him breaking down how the process is done is pretty awesome.
Wow, incredible looking irons and love listening to Vosh explain anything. His excitement come through every time!!
Chris’s passion really comes thru in that video! Beautiful irons!

Very cool. They are gorgeous.
Man these look incredible
Too beautiful to ever hit tbh.
And finally some respect on his name ??

That is a great video explaining the process to get the color on them. I saw a set of these in person last week and they are absolutely beautiful.
anyone or 7 of you want to split a set? even the box looks too nice to open
Listening to the process, it sounds like there’s potential for some crazy color combos. These are so d@mn good looking and happy to see Mizuno continue down the LE path. Their stuff is phenomenal!
Simply gorgeous irons. I would game them only the week of the Masters every year and then put them back into my Mizuno Victory Cup staff bag.
Science behind these finishes is too cool. Love Mizuno’s special editions like this.
The process is interesting, the finished product is amazing. I don’t think I could ever play anything that pretty, I’d be taking drops on every shot that wasn’t on a nice, plush fairway lie to avoid banging them up.
Wow….looks beautiful and that’s a really cool backstory on how it came to be. Had no idea they’d put them in a chamber and charge them to get those colors. That’s awesome and it looks so good.
Listening to Chris talk about these finishes and hearing his excitement is all I need to know. I wish I had the disposable income to snatch up a set.
I’d play the green off these..
good lord those are beautiful
Good looking clubs, but not for me.
Yes, sir!
The way you can still a bit of pink with the green is stunning. These are beautiful irons. I like Mizuno’s blue but the green are levels above them in awesomeness.
These are so so so good. Even better than the 2021 Blue 221 set.
All of those releases look awesome, love the break down of the process.
These look stunning.
These are without a doubt the best looking set of irons I have ever seen. Very cool video.
They are too nice looking to play lol
Would love to see these machines in use. I had the honor of seeing a variety of metallurgy devices/machines at a military lab in Indiana several years ago. But I’ve never seen them in use. Great video and I’m looking forward to more great things and colors and specials from Mizuno

Let me know if you need a +1!
Absolutely stunning!!!
Holy f*ckballs these are incredible!
Granted, you can make anything in Masters colors and I’d buy it, but these are stunning.
That was such a cool video and those irons may be the best looking irons that I have ever seen. If I played blades, I would be all over them. The process of creating that finish almost sounds like splitting an atom, LOL. All of it is amazing.

I just retiring after spending 36 years in the semiconductor industry. This process is used in literally every semi facility in the world. It’s a pretty standard deposition process(PVD). The issue is uniformity, which is what Chris refers to in his video when he talking about the harder to plate corners etc. A flat surface(semi wafer) is simple, but a rounded object like a golf club is more difficult to put down a uniform(same thickness everywhere) coating, which shows up as slightly different color.

I have requested that at least one person from Mizuno plays them at the Victory Cup this year with THPers.

Heck, I’d hire someone to stand next to me with a wet towel and wipe them down between each shot. :ROFLMAO:

That will be cool for the participants to see.. I’ve got to see them in person at some point. I wonder if they are distracting on a sunny day.
so clean

It’d be perfect because I’d have the 5-4-3 to hang in the command center while using normal looking 245 haha
Those are pretty. I’d buy them. Then flip them for a profit. 🙂
Those are absolutely stunning! Vosh always does such a good job breaking down the technical parts. The ion plating talk was pretty interesting. Wouldn’t have guessed different colors react and adhere differently.
Play them or hang them on the wall?
