The high end simulators give you height, carry and total distance. Combined with spin that should give you a good feel in a fitting. When I did my ball fitting outdoors it was on the range at our club and I wasn’t hitting into greens so you didn’t see the ball behave like it would on a green. As long as you keep the clubhead clean (which I hadn’t thought about) I would think for irons an indoor simulator would be fine. How it works around the green is a different story.
The big issue with this is that every ball has a different aerodynamic profile. So, what. is the system using to predict that? i can give you 3 balls with the same exact launch conditions that would have totally different results as they fly. through the air.

So how is it not knowing what how your opponent is playing on each hole? Does it have a factor in how you play the hole?

You’d be surprised. Playing in match play just kicks your game up a gear. Really fun experience.
So, guys … based on the golf ball intel that was shared with you in the past few days, which Callaway ball would most likely help me gain a tad more spin and higher launch with my irons, but not my driver? (No, this is not a post-Experience test; it’s a serious question.)

I’m staying another night in Palm Beach Gardens. So, I have some time to give you a recap of the events.
On Monday, I had the pleasure of meeting in person another THPer. At Abacoa Golf Course in Jupiter I met up with @V14_Heels, @BigDill, @jfox789, and @Carolina Dundee for a practice round. And we were joined by @X.Man who came from Miami to play with us.
Monday evening, we had the meet and greet at Rocco’s Tacos in Palm Beach Gardens. @Tenputt was able to meet up with us there. I got to meet JB, Keenan Phillips from True Temper and Jason Finley from Callaway. Lots of knowledge served along with some great food. Learned lots about Callaway, especially golf balls and lots about True Temper products.
After dinner we we able to hang out and watch some Monday Night Football. We enjoyed some great company and some beverages provided by @BigDill.
Tuesday we played on the newly opened match course. Without set tees or set pars for each hole, it was a very different experience – an unfamiliar way to play a round of golf. I was paired with Jason Finley against @jfox789 and @Carolina Dundee. We had a great match on an unfamiliar course. It was a Shamble. There was a lot of strategy involved in tee selection for both teams. We ended up losing the match 2 and 1. Our opponents were a formidable duo in the Shamble format. @jfox789 is quite the golfer and was a pleasure to play against. @Carolina Dundee was a great partner too especially in this format.
Tuesday dinner was at the Cooper Restaurant. More great food, great camaraderie and knowledge bombs from JB, Keenan and Jason. They answered every question we had about golf, THP, Callaway and True Temper.
Wednesday was Championship Course time. We were playing with our Dream Foursome in individual matches against the other team. Not necessarily the most ideal format but it was the right one. It allowed for a competition and it allowed the Dream Foursomes to play together.
I hit my opening drive on #1 in the left rough. I ended up making par after a great up and down from off the front of the green. After 1 I didn’t miss another fairway for the rest of the round until #18 where I was 1 foot off the fairway on the left hand side. I hit driver 15 times during the round and I hit 12 of 14 fairways. I play the Callaway B 21 and it was amazing for me to hit this club so successfully in this round while playing with Jason Finley. And on the other hole where I hit driver, I hit the ball on the green. Yes, I hit driver on the first Bear Trap hole #15 and hit about 15 feet from the hole. It was playing just around 175 yards into a fair bit of wind. Probably playing about 190 plus. I hit a nice fade on the green. As far as the rest of my round, I really couldn’t have played any better. For me to be in my first Experience and to bring my A game was simply incredible. And to play so well while playing with Jason Finley and with JB present and watching many shots made me incredibly happy.
I really can’t express my thanks enough to everyone involved in this experience. But I would like to thank JB, Keenan and Jason for all that they did to make my experience so special for me. Thanks also to Morgan for all that she did for this experience. The restaurants were excellent.
Thanks to @Tenputt and @BigDill for joining me on this experience. I am also very happy that I got a chance to meet and play golf with @V14_Heels and his foursome members. It was great to share this experience with the 5 of you and to share a going away lunch after the experience. Also going to PGASS and watching @jfox hit a couple Callaway products was really cool. And he will be getting a prize from Callaway for being on the winning team. A little club test.
Special thanks to the forum for following along and offering encouragement and support for us.
To sum it up: it was truly great golf, great people, great courses, great food. In addition to a great experience, I’ll have memories that will last a lifetime.
