Iceman, now you may face the possibility of not being allowed there at all... Ever.
The man may not have called the police, but if it's gated community and private course, you can bet your scrawny butt he'll have gone to the pro shop and bitched a blue streak.
If I were you, I'd go there as soon as possible, speak to the head pro or course manager, apologize and get official permission if their willing to give it to you. If they say no, stay away.

Wow Jack, that seems absurd to me. Who is that guy? Just some random old dude? What right does he have to kick you off the course? If he had issue he should've taken it up with the management of the course. But oh well. People are crazy.

Dude, you just don't get it. Like Smalls said, this came up months ago and you said you had permission at all the courses you do this at, guess not. You are not a member of this club, it is private property. By being on the course without permission, you are trespassing. By removing property from the course, you are stealing. It's that plain and simple. Either get permission or move on. You say it hasn't been an issue until now, but 3 weeks ago the guy told you to leave, it was clearly an issued then, yet you continued to trespass and steal. You are 100% in the wrong here, the dude probably shouldn't have chased you, but when a member told you to leave, you should have left.

TheIcemann - I know you think it's innocent but you are breaking the law by trespassing and you could be arrested and even charged with theft. Get permission in writing if you go back just to protect yourself from the crazy man and the law should it become an issue. The members who pay substantial amounts to play there have a lot of say in how the course is operated. I'm sure many of them don't like you fishing balls out of the lake (if I remember correctly from previous posts) when those balls could be sold to benefit the course. Having worked at a course before, I know how territorial the members are at times. Protect yourself and do it right next time. Sit back and look at it from the other perspective.

LOL - I know what you are saying. I just agree with a lot of the others that there is a right way and wrong way to go about getting the balls. I hope they say yes to him and let him continue to pick them up.

Depends on the club. Some of them have divers that pay the club X amount a month to go scuba diving to pick them up etc. That's usually the case if the club tells the members not to go ball hawking in ponds etc.

Called the store up here about re-shafting my PW (the one that snapped) and was asking about price and time to do it...the guy kept saying "So you mean a wood?" when I was telling him the shaft I wanted to have put in it was graphite -.-

I gathered he was just pointing out how clueless a lot of "pro's" are. Just my .02
I asked a local club builder here about spining shafts and he looked at me like deer in the headlights.

so im sitting in the proshop with my boss and this guy comes in. first thing out of his mouth was a loud "nine". thats the only word he said. my boss says "we have our seniors shot gunning and it might be a while" psycho guy says"wtf are you trying to say? I dont see anyone out there. it cant be that hard." boss says"i dont know what to tell you" guy walks out the door and comes back in saying "its because im black aint it! I DONT SEE NO OTHER BLACK PPL OUT THERE!" he walks out then back in again wanting to yell at the manager calling everyone in the proshop a racist. lol I say "ummmm. do I look white to you?"

I've done my fair share of hiding there too, but dang! Move on and let people get a seat!
Also, making noises while in crapper. For example, "Oh Mercy" is just an odd bathroom statement to make.

Kids have it easy these days, they have smartphones to keep them entertained while hiding on the crapper. I had to sit there with a boring 2 way text pager reading news & scores.
