The white driver has taken the golf market by storm, but not everyone loves the contrasting colors, so TaylorMade is bringing back the black driver with the new R1 Black Driver. You can read all about it on the homepage here http://www.thehackersparadise.com/?p=19879.

Love the R1, white doesn't bother me.....but this does look damn good.

Smart move appealing to the masses and appeasing those that prefer non-white.

i bet they double their sales, easily.

They are damn good at what they do, no doubt.

Plus, I'm impressed its buzz created without ballz.
 
This definitely looks sharp. I like that the alignment arrow is still there. I've come to love the white/orange combo, but may need to add this to the arsenal.

My thoughts exactly. This is like the Long Tom driver head but with a little orange mixed in, which matches my bag perfectly.

I never liked the white look. This thing just looks mean.

My one issue is the PVD face. Those end up looking bad over time.
 
I was about to pull the trigger on pre-ordering, but then realized it just isnt practical for me.. I almost gave in
 
Black R1 > RBZ Stage 2 > White R1

In terms of look for me.
 
I'm thinking I may need a new driver now...
 
Does anybody want to buy a kidney? I have a spare one and suddenly need a new driver.

Now we are talking! I was a fan of the R11 and the white when it first came out. Played it in the bag as a matter of fact. Loved it. But the black R1 looks great and I don't know if its because it's never been done in the R series or because it just looks good! Either way, I'm glad they are giving golfers an option!
 
Not one negative comment.

Why can't TMAG see what they are trying to push on us with these white race striped heads is a load of crap. They are so stuborn.

BTW I like it.
 
I think it looks better than the spy pics we saw a little while back. Take those stripes off of it and it looks like the SuperTri to me.
