THP Invitational #1 Sponsored By Bridgestone Golf

Just putting this out here now so that everybody knows about it and it takes a little less time to get organized on Saturday morning. We would like to get a group photo with everybody wearing their Bridgestone hat before tee off. I think it would look pretty cool seeing all 30 golfers with the hat on.

I agree, this will be a great shot to have.

check out the spoiler if you'd like to see what is in store for us tomorrow.

Bear’s Best is a high-end daily fee course focused on corporate entertaining and golf outings. To create Bear’s Best, Jack Nicklaus selected 18 holes from his more than 200 course designs worldwide and put them into one extraordinary round of golf.

Hole Descriptions
Hole No. 1

No. 10 St. Mellion, Cornwall, England

This is a medium-length but demanding par 4, playing 100 feet downhill from tee to green to a narrow fairway. Second shot club selection will be difficult to a small green guarded by a deep waste bunker on the right and undulating slopes left and back.

Hole No. 2

No. 10 Sherwood Country Club, Thousand Oaks, CA

A short par 4 dogleg left to a fairway well protected on both sides by trees. A bunker situated just short of the green in the center of the fairway guards the narrow approach. Sand on the left and a large oak tree on the right protect the green. Long hitters will be tempted to go for the green off the tee here.

Hole No. 3

No. 13 Spring Creek Ranch, Collierville, TN

This 167-yard par 3 is guarded in front by a dry streambed making club selection critical. A large deep bunker to the left and two bunkers on the right protect the green. The multi-tiered green adds extra challenges to this beautiful par 3.

Hole No. 4

No. 2 Old Works, Anaconda, MT

A 340-yard par 4 dogleg right. Approach shots to this medium-sized green have to avoid two bunkers on the right and one on the left. Black bunker sand is a distinctive feature here and makes this a memorable hole.

Hole No. 5

No. 5 The Golf Club of Purchase, Purchase, NY

A large wetland in front of the tees guards this wide fairway, which is free of bunkers. Approach shots need to carry another wetland, which crosses the fairway just short of the green. The green is a narrow target protected on the left by a large bunker.

Hole No. 6

No. 12 Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, OH

At 169 yards, this beautiful par 3 plays entirely over water from an elevated tee. The green here is small and well protected by bunkers both front and back. The steep slope behind the green makes anything long a difficult up and down.

Hole No. 7

No. 3 Shoal Creek Country Club, Shoal Creek, AL

At 585 yards, this straightaway par 5 plays to a narrow fairway guarded by two large bunkers on the left. The second shot plays to an approach guarded by a large bunker on the right. The long narrow green is well guarded by deep bunkers both left and right.

Hole No. 8

No. 9 The Club at Nevillewood, Nevillewood, PA

This medium-length par 4 plays slightly uphill to a wide fairway. Approach shots have to carry the three ponds, which guard the front and right side of the green.

Hole No. 9

No. 7 TPC Michigan, Dearborn, MI

This medium-length par 5 requires a tee shot that avoids 3 bunkers down the right side. The second shot is to a narrow fairway guarded on both sides by bunkers. The undulating green is well protected by three bunkers.

Hole No. 10

No. 15 Mt. Juliet, County Kilkenny, Ireland

A deep swale with six bunkers crosses the fairway short of the green on this short par 4. Most players decide to lay up short of the trouble, leaving a medium to short iron into this large undulating green surrounded by three bunkers.

Hole No. 11

No. 15 PGA "Championship" Course, PBG, FL

A 193-yard par 3, playing entirely over water. The green is guarded by water on the right and long, and by sand on the left.

Hole No. 12

No. 18 Gleneagles, Pertshire, Scotland

At 536 yards, this par 5 plays 65 feet uphill from tee to green. A large bunker short right of the green guards the narrow approach. Undulating slopes and a bunker back right guard this large green.

Hole No. 13

No. 3 Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, OH

A medium-length dogleg left par 4. The tee shot plays downhill to a landing zone protected by trees to the left and bunkers to the right. The second shot requires a carry over a deep native area to a green surrounded by four bunkers. Undulating slopes around the green make getting up and down difficult here.

Hole No. 14

No. 17 Governors Club, Chapel Hill, NC

At 565 yards, No. 14 is the longest par 5 at Bear's Best Atlanta. The tee shot plays uphill to a small landing area guarded by a bunker on the right and OB left. The second shot plays downhill to a well-protected green. A large bunker crosses the fairway short of the green forcing all but the longest hitters to lay up on their second shots.

Hole No. 15

No. 1 Sherwood Country Club, Thousand Oaks, CA

This is a medium-length par 4. Tee shots to the right side of the fairway offer the best angle into this narrow green. Deep bunkers both right and left guard the undulating green.

Hole No. 16

No. 15 Elk River Club, Banner Elk, NC

Club selection is critical on this picturesque par 3. The tee shot plays 35 feet downhill to a small undulating green surrounded by four bunkers. Anything long requires a delicate chip back up the hill.

Hole No. 17

No. 3 Gleneagles, Pertshire, Scotland

A medium-length par 4 dogleg right. Three bunkers guard the right side of the fairway awaiting anyone who tries to cut the corner off the tee. The second shot plays uphill to a green guarded both left and right by bunkers.

Hole No. 18

No. 18 Castle Pines Golf Club, Castle Rock, CO

Tee shots on this 483-yard par 4 finishing hole play slightly uphill to a landing area guarded on the left by a large bunker. Second shots from the left side of the fairway require a long carry over 11 fairway bunkers to reach the green. The green is protected on three sides by bunkers.

Maybe a little bit of THP TV from the First Invitational?

Thanks for that Freddie. Those par 5's sure look like they'll be a challenge for this short hitter!

Whoa! This will be a great test.

So I'm sitting in the deer stand this morning trying to concentrate but all I can think about is teeing it up with Damaikis, meeting new folks, having a blast!, and leaving with a wheelbarrow full of new golf balls!! Tomorrow can't come soon enough...

Hint Hint Bridgestone if ya listening :D

Oh boy. Should we have an avatar bet?

Lawd have Mercy you done jumped on the BIG Dawg :bulgy-eyes:! Is this a Team bet or an individual scuffle :confused2:

Done, #1 make it so...avatar control for one week

Lowest combined score for the 18 holes correct? Team OG/JT will be hotter than a champion Blue Tic hound, on a Raccoon trail :blob:

I see you at your bama flakes this morning

There is something about 30 something THPers getting together for a day of golf that makes me smile. It is hard to understand and even harder to explain in the typed word, but it is very special to us. If anybody wants to be bored out of their skull this weekend, I can try to explain it via a conversation...Otherwise, it is going to be a heck of a good time.

Sounds like a great idea to me.

Just a few hours of work and it will be time to hit the road. Everyone travel safely whether that's today or in the morning.

I wish I was going to be in Atl for this, hate that I am missing it.

Have to say I'm pretty jealous of all of you. Playing in a THP event, throwing in some competition, awesome course, and a great sponsor. You all are some very lucky folks.

Me too dude. Classes are going to go by so slowly today I think. I can't wait!

Thanks OG. I would love to make it. Here is to keeping your fingers crossed right..haha

I am heading out to the course now to get some practice so MaryC doesn't have to drag me completely around the course. Maybe I will be able to help her on a few holes. At any rate, we will be having fun out there for sure.

I bet One-T makes it down there. Well I wish One-T makes it down there

Thanks OG. I would love to make it. Here is to keeping your fingers crossed right..haha

Yes sir bob tail! It would be sooooooo cool to take home the big prize however meeting with all these great folks, is prize enough :thumb:

So excited and nervous at the same time. It is going to be a lot of fun!!!

We still got room right? If little Crew is cooking with Crisco come on down bro :blob:!

DawgDaddy -- I'm going out for a round of golf with KB in a few, to work on a couple of issues. Getting use to our fast bent greens & chipping up around those suckers. Those undulating greens with this much speed, put's fear :bulgy-eyes: in your eyes, especially when you have to wedge a shot over a mound beside the greens. I have not doubt, Bears Best will have a ton of situations just like this. It makes something draw up tight, in ya britches :alien: haha

really wish I could make it down here for this one, was very close to asking the wife but I envisioned getting hit upside the head with a frying pan, so I didnt bother.

But hanging out at my in-laws this weekend will be cool too

Just a tad bit jealous, have a great time guys!
