i ruptured my right achilles playing badminton on thursday..going to be out for a minimum 12 weeks probably more.

taken the non-surgical option which seems to be the normal approach in the UK, got my first cast on, review in 3 weeks where they will stretch the tendon and put a new cast on.

gutted its happened this early into the season, but at least i have 12 weeks to look forward to my next game of golf :)

heal well everyone :)

That sucks! Time to work on putting? :D

I get this neck pain once a month or so from sleeping in a bad position I think. Yesterday, it was terrible. Fortunately it only lasts 3 days whenever it happens, so tom it should be gone.

I have them all day every day......mind of a 23 yrd old....body of a 73 yr old

Let's see....multiple surgeries on both knees and triple compartment Arthritis in both....ibuprofen helps...a little.
Now after an MRI with contrast, the doc has diagnosed my Left shoulder with a torn labrum that needs surgery to repair....to be done this coming winter.
Gawd....getting old is hell.

Here's wishing you a speedy recovery! I ruptured my left Achilles while squirrel hunting back in 2006 and it was an ordeal to recover from. Of course mine was never placed in a cast or anything, I was just told to baby it for a while and keep an eye on it.
The rupture happened on January 6th and I played my first round of golf in late March, but it was still very tender. It was probably July before I was brave enough to try doing any jogging and September before I finally returned to playing basketball.

Hi,
Aged 54, no real problems until I started a passionate affair with my new W/S Di11 irons 2 weeks ago.
I took them everywhere with me, went to the range every day.
Hit hundreds of balls at the range, now I'm injured: verdict is damaged anterior serrator muscle which gives painful shpoulder blade and ribs. And most likely a stress fracture of one or two ribs due to intensive ball hitting. X-ray later this week.

I am going crazy, no golf at the moment until all this heals up.

Then back to the range, go easy and hit less balls.

Thank God I got custom-fitted and moved to LR Flex (senior) which suits me fine.

But no more 2-hour long training sessions and hitting 120 balls.

I'm 62 and in decent shape, but my 2ed job is driving truck from midnight Friday to 07:00 Sat. All my loading and unloading is pulling backwards. I take a 2 hour (broken) nap when I get home than walk my normal 18 on Sat morning. Usually by about #16 my legs are pretty tired and I find I start to slide my hips rather than turn them.... The plus side is I can still move!

Recently I've had this pain in my palm-thumb and it sucks I feel like something needs to be popped I guess to much golf does that to you.

How are the ABs playing at the moment?

ABs are doing pretty good right now, beat Ireland, we'll see what happens this year with a new coach.

My newest pain is in my lower back on my left side. It almost feels like the muscle connecting my hip to my spine, if that even exists!!! If I roll over onto my left side in the middle of the night I instantly wake up, but I really don't feel it otherwise. WEIRD!!!

Soooooo, it was wet here today, walked in the back door at work and slipped on the tile and busted my arse. Smashed into the door frame and jacked my right shoulder a bit. As long as it doesn't linger too long, I'll live with it, but it better not be chronic.

I've been feeling the aftermath of an 18 hole outing on Saturday and then 27 holes yesterday..all in 90 degree weather. I've been dragging all day!

I hurt myself playing softball last week :bad: I crushed a ball to center field and as soon as the bat came around, I had a sharp stabbing pain in my left side. it's been 5 days and still pretty tender, but manageable. It hurts like hell when I cough, sneeze or laugh. I can't swing a club right now, going to see a specialist tomorrow, crossing my fingers!

Played golf 7 straight days last week and ended it with a tournament on Sat/Sun. My body says please take a break this week:beat-up:. I will do some light workouts at the my gym and aerobic stuff but nothing heavy. It's starting to take a toll on me to keep going without resting.

woke up and my chin and jaw are killing me got tripped heading into the boards last night and went face first im lucky i have my teeth. and didn't get a concussion. at least a serious one. was a little wobbly for the next shift.

lol yeah i was a little worried last night i feel better this morning. i did elbow him later in the game so he may be posting in here later also.

a few weeks while swatting a mosquito, the tendon of my r/h middle finger popped off the 1st knuckle. It's laying in between the 1st knuckles of my middle and ring fingers. swelled up pretty good and moves weird when I try to straighten it out but not painful per se, just kind of tight when I clench my fist.

saw my Dr. 2 weeks ago. He looked at it and said "the tendon popped off your knuckle." Hmmmmm, really? He gave me Celebrex for 2 weeks and told me to come back if it doesn;t get any better....."we'll order an MRI and send you to a hand specialist" OK. Why didn't we just go ahead and do that? Says me: "can I golf with it like this?" he says "sure, just wrap it in an Ace bandage, and put a splint on it when you use a computer mouse" Riiiight. It aches like hell after 20 minutes on a mouse....impossible to splint but I have figured out how to position it without stressing the tendon. 2 weeks are up today so I'll call to make an appt.

Oddly, I've carded the best 4 rounds this seaon with the hand like this. (no Ace bandage b.t.w.) I figure if I screw up a few more fingers, I'll be good enough to start posting in the "breaking par" thread :act-up:

Some jerk elbowed me last night!
