I'm a course nerd, so humor me :D

This isn't meant to replace the course review threads. Just a quick rundown of where you played. Maybe toss a link to their website or a picture if you can.

Our courses are just opening up for the year, so my choices are a bit limited for another week or two.

Most recent I've played are:

Arsenal Island Golf Club

Running a $10 special right now, which is hard to beat. Course is a bit of a pain in the butt due to a massive amount of trees. It used to be private and was opened to the public a couple years back. Sits on Arsenal Island, which has history back to the Civil War. Some neat scenery of the Colonel's houses and a few holes play along the Mississippi River.

Hidden Hills Golf Course

A true goat pasture, but it's open year round course and you take what you can get at times around here. Interstingly, it has 22 holes, the last four being there for an extended round a quick warmup. $14 to walk right now, which is about all it's worth.

I will be playing Sequoyah National tomorrow. Wake did an excellent review on that course.

Last round was at my home course, Bakker Crossing. http://www.bakkercrossing.com

It's a links style lay out with not many trees but some deep rough and some long par 3s. Here's a hole by hole course tour, http://bakkercrossing.com/coursetour.php

We have several par 4's over 400 and it can get to be a pretty challenging track especially when the wind blows. I've been here since they opened and enjoy the course and the staff. We have a great Men's club too which really helps.

I love courses like this. A course doesn't need trees to be a challenge.

These are where I have played so far this winter

Adams Pointe (A very nice Muni, rates run around 40-50 bucks)

Swope Park (Very historical course, have held PGA tourneys back when Sam Snead and Ben Hogan were playing)

Creekmoor Golf Course (My favorite in KC, expensive, but Groupons quite often)

I played Riverwood Golf and Athletic Club on Saturday in a charity event for Wounded Warriors. Not the greatest course in the world, but a great purpose. They have 3 sets of 9 holes there. http://www.rwgac.com/rw-golf.cfm

Played my home course on Friday, South Riding GC. It's actually looking better than it did late last year. Still waiting to see if the new management takes their job seriously. All of the site pics are a little outdated and small. Don't have any saved that I know of but will try to take a few next time out. It's a standard neighborhood course where houses are in play on some holes. Not super challenging but a good, if a bit expensive, offering. Points for being <5 minutes away.

Also played Laurel Hill GC on Saturday. One of the tougher courses I've played this year. Don't let the fact that it's a county course fool you. This one is nice. Was quite challenging with a good amount of elevation changes. No photos. It was wintery anyways. There's a good slide show on their site.

on Saturday I played my last round at the Hamilton Elks as a member

So close to my house which made it great, with a possible move in the near future, didnt make sense to sign back up

Some very nice looking places guys.

So far have played 3 courses this year:

Mountain View Golf Course in West Jordan, UT
Super easy course, slope is only like 115 from the tips. Conditions are usually pretty decent though.

Sand Hollow Resort (Championship Course) in Hurricane, UT
One of the most breathtakingly scenic courses I've ever played. The back 9 is almost a religious experience. Golf-wise, it is kind of like links golf in the desert. Tough, lots of sand, but not ridiculously long.

Sunbrook Golf Club (Woodbridge/Blackrock 9's) in St. George, UT
Parkland style course in the heart of the Southern Utah desert. Target golf style course - not ridiculously penal, but can definitely cause some high numbers if you don't hit the right spots. Kind of like a Florida-style housing development course.
My review of the course here

I'm trying to get out and play Rancho Sierra today. It's a nice 9 hole course in Lancaster. Pretty decent rates and it's fairly quiet and not backed up.

Champions Circle in Fort Worth

Played a local par 3 course(Knights Play) last night and played good on the front but played great on the back nine. I birdied my first par 3 ever on 16. Pared my next toe and bogeyed the last. I almost hole in oned 17 and had all four within 6 feet. I was so excited I wanted to play another nine.

Played Pinehurst #8 and #1 today. Tomorrow we play #2 and Thursday #4. Will post pics by the weekend.
