For Mitsubishi Golf, 2024 is a big year. Foremost, it marks twenty years of Diamana. More notably, it is twenty years in which the brand has never stopped relentlessly innovating to place Diamana at the forefront of golf shafts with some of the most memorable and successful releases ever.
The most renowned of them all? The White Board. Without saying anything else, most golfers will immediately have memories of the iconic design. Well, there was no better time than this important twenty year anniversary for Mitsubishi Golf to introduce the 6th Generation of the Diamana WB to the world.
Mitsubishi Golf – 6th Generation Diamana WB
The White Board is indeed back, and while there are leaps forward in design, this anniversary year has also led Mitsubishi Golf to get a bit nostalgic as well, and rightfully so. The first thing golfers will notice about the new 6th Gen WB is its look, in which the brand has brought back the iconic aesthetic including the surfboard and flowerbands which set the Diamana line apart for years.
While showcasing the iconic black finish, the new Diamana WB is also going back to the roots of the original 63, 73, and 83 weight classes. However, it isn’t all about nostalgia, because internally there has been much work done to keep the design the same low launch and low spin profile it is known for, but also implementing all sorts of new technologies.
Yes, Xlink Tech Resin System is in play to maximize the amount of carbon fiber used and the Consistent Feel Design aims to keep things simple for fitters. However, at the forefront of change is the use of 80-ton DIALEAD pitch fiber in the handle which in Mitsubishi Golf’s development process showed a significant jump in energy transfer through the swing, and thus a speed jump.
Also implemented through the full length of the Diamana White Board is aerospace-grade MR70 carbon fiber to add strength. Additionally, there is a new orientation of 46-ton material within the tip section to get the torque lower which looks to help downrange dispersion.
The Details
Mitsubishi Golf is adamant that though there are new advancements implemented to this release, they will never get away from what made it the dominant shaft it was: Smooth feel and consistent performance. The 6th Generation Diamana WB will be available beginning 1/26/24 and will carry a MSRP of $400.00.

Definitely a brand I need to try, started after their biggest popularity surge and feel like I need to see what I missed with this newer iteration.
Good write up, I like reading more about shafts it’s an area that I am still not familiar with in nearly all nuances.
The addition of pitch fiber in the handle has me extremely curious as it seems to be the new “it” material.
That event with Mitsubishi Rayon later this year tho. Wonder if there’s a chance we see this even to just try ?
Newbie golf nut alert… just had my first experience with the line in the 5 wood I picked up recently and have been really enjoying it. I’m guessing this will do really well with the combined nostalgia and material advancements.
Great write up @Jman! Lots of upgrades here. Color me curious!
I think I still have an original WB in one of my old drivers. I’m interested in the tech going into the handle with the new material
I’m a big fan of the graphics on these.
Low launch, low spin isn’t really for me but man do I love the look of these with the black finish and the surfboard and flowerbands.

I was kind of wondering about that as I read the article. Definitely has me curious. This is a fantastic looking shaft!
I remember the original ion plated versions, played the Whiteboard 63 in driver, Blueboard 73 in the fairway.

Love that they’re back to the 63/73/83 designations, pure nostalgia for me

They were the first true after market shafts I played.
Gorgeous looking shaft and LOVE all the options that are offered.
I’m alway surprised to see the low/low shafts available in the weaker flexes. I’m obviously not a fitter, but low/low shafts and slower swing speeds don’t connect in my brain.
Oh man all the feels for this one, the BB shaft with a similar design is one of my all time faves. In the highly competitive shaft arena of low/low shafts I have no doubt this one will get some looks

That is interesting. My success with the Kai’li White has me intrigued for this one.

Who didn’t try that combo at least once?
WHen these work, they just work, I have had a couple over the years, and they have been pretty decent. Not digging the price though.

No two swings are alike.
Interesting to see SR in the lighter weights.
Usually only see that flex in JDM models.
The looks of the shaft alone are outstanding. And making it matte…chefs kiss. I have a Diamana BB (i know they are different profiles) in my older Nike 5w and it’s one of the best feeling shafts I’ve ever used. No doubt with all the improvement since way back then, this should be a big winner!
Bit the bullet and got one on the way. Excited to give this a go as I played the ahina for multiple years.
The white board is really the only Mitsubishi shaft I ever got along with. Will have to try this one..
I liked the previous versions of the Diamana Whiteboard. Very stout, low launching, and low spinning.
The Diamana Whiteboard has been Tiger’s go to driver shaft over the years. I think he is currently using the Ventus Black, but I’m guessing that we might see him see him testing or using the new Diamana Whiteboard.
I need to spend some time with this new one.

Saaaaaaame.
Very much.
Diamana undervalued in my mind. That shaft just performs. Look forward to hearing more.
I think this shaft will pair good with my Ping LST and look great. It would also look awesome in my Darkspeed LS but might be a bit too low launch for me.
Anyone have one in play yet? So tempted to order one

I tested out a 63x in my LST. Feels just like a White Board, maybe a little more stout. I’m just really use to the TR Black (and I actually think there is some MORE feel in the TR than WB) and everything was very similar in numbers. I’d have no problem gaming it, but just prefer the feel of the TR and wasn’t being wowed by the numbers.
Can’t wait to see one of these in person, I think the graphics are pretty killer.
There is a certain nostalgia to this one, because it did pretty much set the bar in the world of shafts for a lot of people. I am going to give the WB a run coming up and see what I think.

Do you think this is a shaft that suits you typically or you just want to see what happens?

Im not big into the “suits me” kind of thing. I know that is not often a popular thought, but the entire notion of low/low, etc etc etc, is just not what I go with. I tend to base it on my timing and how well I center the club because that seems to dictate a bit more for me than something raising or lowering ball flight by design principles.
If I go back to when you tested every shaft a brand made back to back, you kind of saw the same thing.

Yes I remember that test well. It was very eye opening but that was also same brand across the board. Different brands could be different side by side and thigns change when swings change.

Very true. I think that is what I love about testing.
As an example, I was a WB player back in the day. It didnt fit me, I am not even sure fitting was there for a player like me, but I loved that shaft. So I think there is a bit of throwback nostalgia in it for me.
I won’t lie, I want this one BAD. It’s one of those, maybe I’ll MAKE it fit me things haha
So, I reeeeeeeeeaaaallllllly want to try the 53X

Are you installing that for use in your driver? If so what head will it be paired with?

Not sure yet. Im putting a cobra adapter on it to give it a few swings.
One of the coolest looking freaking driver shafts ever.
That look in a Darkspeed LS? Wheeeeewwwww
What a way to arrive home.
There was a box of driver shafts in for full THP homepage review awaiting me last night, and as late as it was, you KNOW I ripped it open to see what it held….
It’s the WB 63S and 63X, and MAN they look badass in hand. Pics will follow this afternoon, then it build out time. I might need a nap first though haha

Probably a Cobra tip since that’s my gamer, but there’s potential for Callaway too. One of the two though.
