Mizuno, in the past two release cycles, went from returning to the putter market and hoping to catch some eyes to being a tremendously popular option in the milled putter segment. In fact, I have no apprehension in saying that the M.CRAFT putters have been nothing short of fantastic in form, function, and finish.
For 2022, they are expanding the line again with three new models, the Mizuno M.CRAFT OMOI 01, 02, and 03.
Read on to get all the details.
2022 Mizuno M.CRAFT OMOI Putters
The root of it all here is heavyweight stability in traditional profiles, and creating a higher MOI design within the framework of an elegant looking visual as only Mizuno Golf can do. Before we dive into what makes them different, it makes sense to address the shapes first:
- OMOI 01 – An old school style slant neck blade with flowing flange lines that really show off the milling in a flattering way. This one is 370g with a ¾ offset design with 60° of toe hang.
- OMOI 02 – A Plumber’s Neck blade shape that will appeal to the Anser fans out there, truly a traditional feel with a modern Mizuno twist. Comes also as a 370g model with full-shaft offset and 40° toe hang.
- OMOI 03 – The big boy, a full mallet shape that is based on what many will find to be a familiar and comfortable shaping. This is the face balanced and full shaft offset option weighing in at 383g.
The OMOI extension is milled out of forged 1025 carbon steel just like the rest of the M.CRAFT options and when that is combined with their fantastic face milling there is sure to be no issues with the feel/feedback. Likewise, Mizuno is continuing to offer each model in three different finishes, their new Double Nickel satin, Blue Ion, and Black Ion.
So, what is different then?
Well, the weight. You see, Mizuno wanted to improve the overall stability for golfers seeking a higher MOI but to do it within the framework of a traditionally classic looking design. What their testing showed was increasing the head-weight while also moving to a lighter grip and shaft should move the clubs center of gravity and help produced a more controlled face rotation through the stroke.
How does this compare with the other M.CRAFT putters? That would be a 15g to 28g increase depending on the model when the putters are using the standard 8g weights in the sole. With that in mind, Mizuno is again including a full kit with each putter that have a pair each of 3g and 13g weights. This remains a cool touch from Mizuno to include the kits as it is something others are quick to charge extra for instead.
The Details
Each putter in the OMOI extension of the M.CRAFT lineup will be priced at $349.95 and hit stores and websites on March 17, 2022. Along with the three aforementioned finish options for each model, they will come standard with the new Lamkin OMOI SinkFit grip and chrome shaft. However, a “Black Out” option will also be available featuring a KBS Tour Black Ion plated shaft as well as a special blacked-out M.CRAFT putter cover.
Does the OMOI design of Mizuno’s newest putters catch your attention? Is it something you plan on finding to try or buy? Jump in to the conversation to let us know and rest assured much more will be coming with THP and Mizuno on this new release!
Change of plans. Found a new Stability Tour that’s the blackout version I’m installing in this today along with the other 10 clubs I’m doing . ?

Putting in the work!
Gripping this morning and then I’ll take some outdoor pics. Going with the lightest putter grip I have here since we don’t have the OMOI grip in hand
Excited to get some outside feedback on these

I didn’t read the article until today because I’m not looking for a change in putters, but after reading about the lightweight grip and shaft with a very heavy head for a non mallet, it has me intrigued to see the stability on this one. I haven’t been a mallet person in the past, so the heavy putters didn’t seem to do much for me, but as I’ve seen with the high MOI drivers and the stability they offer, I’m interested to see what it can do with the putter
That black looks good.

With both your overall reviewing skills and length of time with the V a big plus
Um. Yeah.
Wow. 😳
I rolled this one for about 30 minutes today out on a sloppy putting green, but outdoors as opposed on my putting green to please @Scooby45 :p;)
Anywho. On the personal, the narrow blade and fact that the flange line is blacked out is big for me in a fit perspective, doesn’t really bring out my natural right aim bias.
On the design itself, the weight is there but its not cumbersome at all. The 02 is freaking CLEAN and the milling is absolutely some of the best I have seen from the bumpers to the face. The addition of the Runbird to the face really completes the whole thing with these as opposed to previous M.CRAFT putters, in fact, I wish they could retroactively add it to all models.
Feel wise, its a plush deep “tock” at impact, and most will translate that to a soft milled feedback which they will have a near impossible time nitpicking.
I’m impressed.

How does the feel compare to the previous M-Craft line? My M-Craft IV is unbelievably soft, while still being satisfyingly “full”. Your word choice of “plush” is apt. I’m interested to know how much difference there is.

They really do, I wished they had refreshed the original mcraft 1, 2, 3 with those finish outs and running bird on the face.
After experimenting with the Odyssey Eleven and Tri-Hot DW, I played my last round of golf with the M-Craft IV and putted well.
I will continue with the M-Craft IV until my OMOI 3 arrives…

I mean, the only real change is the Runbird on the face, the rest are shaping changes which are natural with new shapes.
I do like the sole, I didn’t at first, but it’s grown on me o. The black finish at least.

I mean the entire stock black package. Entirely different grip, blacked out alignment, shaft, cover, and then the bird and sole/shape changes on top of that.

Blue Ion Gang ?
Lot of interesting takes on this one from my HS kids yesterday. Besides loving the looks, the weight definitely had many of them leaving things a little shorter than they are accustomed too (not a bad thing for a couple of them).
The sound is right. The looks are right. The feedback is right.
This is a hell of a putter release, and the golfers who like heavier with that lower balance point are going to be very pleased.

perfect headshape imo
Been interchanging this one with my gamer and bouncing back and forth during practice the past week.
The feel is 100% in line with what Mizuno established with the M.CRAFT lineup, it fits in perfectly there. I retain that it will leave no one left “wanting” when it comes to sound/feel.
More than that though, the lower balance point and heavier weight is noticable when you pick it up, but not so much through the stroke. Rather it just blends, meaning theres nothing in ones head going “uh-oh, this is heavy” in the stroke which leads to adaptations and alterations of the stroke on the greens.
I am impressed again by Mizuno and what they are doing in the putter segment.
Little nudge of this one for feedback people might have missed and a general wondering who all is still considering giving an OMOI a run this year?

Fully intend to demo them when I finally get to a brick and mortar golf shop in the next couple weeks… and will give the M Craft another go too.
I think I’ll stick with my M-Craft IV for now. I predict an OMOI refresh for the IV, V, and VI next year, so maybe I’ll check it out then.

Definitely looking to try the OMOI out soon as it’s available to test. I like putters on the heavier side personally and never tried a mallet style too so I’m very interested. The blackout option is a bonus as well too (personally) and the pics you posted looks so clean!

It’s a great looking putter and I like the tech. I just bought my Triple Wide and am really loving it, otherwise I’d probably be giving the OMOI 03 a shot at my bag.

I love that you’re getting to compare their two M Craft concepts based on personal experience.
Also, I know you’re typically comfortable in a heavier head, especially when you play to your preferred length. How’s that combination going, and is it a big shock at all?
Stopped by the golf shop yesterday and they don’t seem to have these in hand yet. Want to place an order but would like to see in person first.

It’s really been an easy transition. I ended up with the M last year in standard weight, so I can feel the difference in balance when I go back and forth for sure. But, it’s still nothing overdone, I think for a lot of handsy golfers that balance point could really calm the hands.
