Mizuno, in the past two release cycles, went from returning to the putter market and hoping to catch some eyes to being a tremendously popular option in the milled putter segment. In fact, I have no apprehension in saying that the M.CRAFT putters have been nothing short of fantastic in form, function, and finish.
For 2022, they are expanding the line again with three new models, the Mizuno M.CRAFT OMOI 01, 02, and 03.
Read on to get all the details.
2022 Mizuno M.CRAFT OMOI Putters
The root of it all here is heavyweight stability in traditional profiles, and creating a higher MOI design within the framework of an elegant looking visual as only Mizuno Golf can do. Before we dive into what makes them different, it makes sense to address the shapes first:
- OMOI 01 – An old school style slant neck blade with flowing flange lines that really show off the milling in a flattering way. This one is 370g with a ¾ offset design with 60° of toe hang.
- OMOI 02 – A Plumber’s Neck blade shape that will appeal to the Anser fans out there, truly a traditional feel with a modern Mizuno twist. Comes also as a 370g model with full-shaft offset and 40° toe hang.
- OMOI 03 – The big boy, a full mallet shape that is based on what many will find to be a familiar and comfortable shaping. This is the face balanced and full shaft offset option weighing in at 383g.
The OMOI extension is milled out of forged 1025 carbon steel just like the rest of the M.CRAFT options and when that is combined with their fantastic face milling there is sure to be no issues with the feel/feedback. Likewise, Mizuno is continuing to offer each model in three different finishes, their new Double Nickel satin, Blue Ion, and Black Ion.
So, what is different then?
Well, the weight. You see, Mizuno wanted to improve the overall stability for golfers seeking a higher MOI but to do it within the framework of a traditionally classic looking design. What their testing showed was increasing the head-weight while also moving to a lighter grip and shaft should move the clubs center of gravity and help produced a more controlled face rotation through the stroke.
How does this compare with the other M.CRAFT putters? That would be a 15g to 28g increase depending on the model when the putters are using the standard 8g weights in the sole. With that in mind, Mizuno is again including a full kit with each putter that have a pair each of 3g and 13g weights. This remains a cool touch from Mizuno to include the kits as it is something others are quick to charge extra for instead.
The Details
Each putter in the OMOI extension of the M.CRAFT lineup will be priced at $349.95 and hit stores and websites on March 17, 2022. Along with the three aforementioned finish options for each model, they will come standard with the new Lamkin OMOI SinkFit grip and chrome shaft. However, a “Black Out” option will also be available featuring a KBS Tour Black Ion plated shaft as well as a special blacked-out M.CRAFT putter cover.

If I was going to do it, this might be the one. After rolling the demos more again today though, I’m going to hold. The changes are just the wrong combinations of some of my favorite features I think. I’ll be curious if they come out with 4, 5, 6.
The 2 and 3 have my attention. It seems like the shaping of the OMOI 3 is almost more nuanced than the M-Craft 3 from the photos. I’ve never gamed a true mallet before so that could be fun. And I’m curious how the heavier weight rolls. I love the shape of the 2 and if the weight settles me down we could be onto something.
Was able to check these out in the store today. Not my cuppa.

Why not?
I haven’t updated in a minute, but I continue to roll this one a lot indoors in the evenings alternating with my gamer.
I’m not best with a PN design, but, there is a lot of comfort to this one for me, and I can absolutely denote the balance point location in the stroke when I move to this from other sticks, I like that feel, but I know for some its kind of hit and miss.
The feel remains impeccable, and I’m not sure anyone has nailed that as well in a “stock” putter lineup like Mizuno has as far as milled designs go.

After a session this morning I’d agree on the feel. It’s right there if not above anything else that one would find on the floor of a big box in stock lineups. Rolled it against Ping, Betti, Callaway, and Scotty and it may have been my favorite feel.

They’ve been intent on nailing it since they brought the M.CRAFT line out, and I think they have done the “Mizuno Feel” legend well on these. They’re freaking addicting.
I rolled the #2 at the PGA Superstore in Myrtle Beach a few weeks ago. I felt as if I couldn’t miss with the darn thing. The weight was such that if i just let it go, it squared itself. It was always straight off the face. I played with it for 30 minutes, and walked out with it. The gentleman that helped me said it was on the floor for an hour when I bought it. I have been comparing it to the variety of putters in my stable, and it feels, to me, to be something very special.
I spent some more time with these today when I went to the range. The weight and balance was really agreeing with my. My takeaway can get a little loose and with the 3 it just seemed to settle out. The OMOI 3 from a swing standpoint felt better side-by-side with the M-Craft V this afternoon for me. Both felt great off the face but the OMOI just seemed more comfortable for my swing.
Seriously? This was a pre-order.
“We have been informed by Mizuno that they are having issues making the M.CRAFT OMOI Type III Putter 34″ black. As of right now they do not have any expected date as to when these will be able to ship. I do apologize but we have just been notified of this.”
Bummer.

Rolled one of these today.. The blue one… Oh my.
It feels great rolling it on the practice mat. I’ll get it out on the practice green tomorrow…
I can’t help but roll that every time I’m anywhere. 2 different places today. Man I wish they worked for me.
This putter (#2) feels really great and I enjoyed my last round with it but it will have to take a break while I muck with my new side saddle putter.
I got to roll a couple of these last night at the GG after dinner. We had to get of the house so a potential buyer could look at it, anyway. WOW – these feel great love the feel of the grip as well – is a new feel/shape for me. The head did NOT feel nearly as heavy as I think I read it to be – but I play heavy headed putters anyway. I will say, if I did not have the Trihot doublewide working well for me, this would be my next choice – not even an smidge of hesitation – if you can do a demo – you owe it to yourself.
I’m eyeballing the 3 but am unsure on color…leaning towards the satin. Ask me the same thing tomorrow and I’ll say black.

Any idea what model that grip is? I loved the feel when I hit it in the store but forgot to look.

It’s a Lamkin Sinkfit Pistol. They feel pretty cool.
How has the blue finish held up for those of you that have had one for a while?
Does anyone know whether Mizuno plans to release other models in the OMOI line?

They have putter expansion goals throughout, but being that this line is so new, there is no update currently on when an extension would come.

probably next year if their past release schedule is any indication
I wish I gelled a little more with the swing feel of the 3. It looks so good!

Thanks. I like the feel of the OMOI putters better than the M Craft, but really prefer the IV model which is only available in the M Craft. I’ll sit tight for now. Lord knows I certainly don’t need yet another putter…….but the OMOI’s feel so good to me.
Rolled the OMOI #2 on the carpet in a local shop. Hard to tell much in that situation, but it did have a nice feel. I kind of like the grip. Didn’t feel heavier to me but did feel stable. I would enjoy spending some time with one on an actual green.

That blue! ?
Tried the OMOI 1 and 2 at the shop the other day. Love the OMOI grip, feel was excellent. However I just could not get comfortable standing over the thin blade. If they come out with an OMOI doublewide or fang then I’d hop on it.
Tried the 03 a few days ago and really liked it. Never tried that grip before and found it interesting and figure I’d get used to it quickly if I bought one of these.
I just won one of these in an Instagram competition in Ireland. Proper excited to get my hands on it. I’m a lefty so the OMOI #2 in Chrome is my only option. I would have loved the all black look – grip, shaft & head…although i can’t complain!!!

I have had the blue in the M Craft 4 for over a year and will say it looks as good as new. Have an OMOI 3 coming and also in blue.
These look so good in the putter corral when I’m in the shop.
Just got fit into an Omoi 3 today. The first three putts (12 footers)I tried with it, I sank. It really worked well for me and I am excited to try it on the course.
Forgot to mention that I got the all black version. It looks killer.
Well, the #3 has found a home. Love the feel and everything about it. Distance control is great but I couldn’t leave well enough alone and did some paint fill

well…
putting in my office, and putting out on a green this morning, i’m unsure about the m.craft omoi 03.
the black ion finish is beautiful, but like the lighting in a changing room in a department store, it shows EVERYTHING. that certainly doesn’t affect performance, but if you’re easily distracted, it’s something to consider.
i really like the shape, but it’s very small. i’m currently putting with a watermelon on the end of a stick, so i think my misses are masked by the larger size and higher moi. with this little pea shooter of a putter, the 03 isn’t helping when i miss it on the toe, heel or bottom. the putts have been significantly offline so far, and speed has been kind of all over the place.
i swapped the 8g weights out for the 13g weights, but i’m still not really feeling stability during the stroke.
unfortunately i just haven’t hit that many good, centered putts to comment on feel. i’m also not someone who gets too hung up on the feel of a putter. i’d say it’s muted/firm if that makes sense? like, it’s not clicky, but it’s not soft either.
i’m planning on playing a round in the morning, so i’ll report back after that.
I’ll be shocked if the light off it is an issue for you outdoors. It’s not something I saw when I worked with mine, and I’m picky as hell about that hahaha

Look what came in yesterday!!!
Type 1 Omoi. 35 inches and all Black!!! In early testing on my putting mat, I can say this thing is pure gold! Changed out both 8-gram weights to the 13-gram weights and I love the feel already. Going in the bag immediately.

That’s interesting, I’ve never noticed that with Mizuno’s black finish. Going to get mine out of the extras today and take it out.
Finally found mine stashed in the garage, forgot I put a Stability shaft in it and a Garsen on it. Will take it out this week some!
Rolled the OMOI 03 and the 02. Liked them both but the 03 has me pondering now.
