    2 part club building/fitting question....

First part is: how often do the Tour guys check their clubs, or really need to.... IE:loft, lie angle, etc....?
Second part: is there anything that can be put into a steel iron shaft tip that will keep it from bending? Ignoring Swing weight. And if so what will it do to the flex?
    In my bag:
Driver: Callaway Big Bertha Alpha. Matrix 6M3 Black Tie. X-Flex
3 wood: Callaway Big Bertha. Mitsubishi Rayon. X-Flex. 13*
Irons: Callaway Protoype (2-PW). Nippon Tour 120g. X-Flex. Tipped
    Wedges: TXEMA: 52, 56, 60. KBS C-Taper X 9 iron shafts Tipped
    Putter: Robert Evans Designed: TXEMA.
    Ball: Titleist Pro V1x

Depends on the player and the travel. Some guys do every single week. Others only when they are changing to a different type of turf and they might want to alter a few things.

As for the 2nd part, please explain further. What are you working on trying to accomplish? Lower launch?

How of often can u bend the club before it becomes compromised?
The second part is strictly because I keep bending the shaft tips and iron hozzles (and breaking both). I have just upgraded (2 days ago)the shafts to KBS C-Taper X+ tipped 3/8 of an inch (from KBS C-Taper X parallel) and heads to Mizuno combo MP set (from Maltby F2).

Bending depends on the club head and bending a shaft is not something that should ever be done unless you have the equipment to bend a shaft. Adjusting clubs is not done through shaft bending, at least not that I've ever known of. There are many club makers (the one that taught me) takes into account that metal has memory and when you bend a iron or wedge it must be thumped good as well to reset its memory so it does not return to where it was before bending. Ping has a great YouTube of this. Bending also needs to be done with the proper equipment as well. There are also many clubs that simply can not or should not be bent. Depends on many things.

As for the Tour players, JB said it all. As for me, I have all my clubs checked at seasons end and over the years, I've had many that needed adjusted back to spec.

Thanks for that info. The shafts were bending when was swinging and I am wondering if there is something that can be put into the tip to help stop that. Not too concerned about sw but more what it would to to flex...if there is something like this exists

I see you are in FL. Not sure where, but we can certainly get you on the THP launch monitor at one of the local get togethers and see what is going on. Curious what method are you using to see the shaft bend? Are you looking at pictures? Seeing something in ball flight?

I've heard of demo clubs with KBS shafts bending at the tip. This is from excessive use and pounding them on hard, indoor mats. Is this what you're referring to?

I'm seeing the shafts bending after I get the heads taken off and the tips are bent. This happened mainly with the Maltby heads. And these are brand new shafts not the demos. KBS C-Taper X+.
