ODYSSEY DEBUTS NEW PROTYPE LINE OF PREMIUM MILLEDPUTTERS

Line Includes SixTour-Proven Models Made from 1025 Carbon Steel
CARLSBAD,Calif., February 14, 2012– Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY) today announced the February 17retail availability of the new Odyssey® ProType™ Tour Series lineof milled, carbon steel putters. Born from unique head shapes craftedfor the best players in the world, the ProType line was developed byOdyssey’s ProWorks team after feedback from hundreds of Tourprofessionals. The result is a collection of models fromthe #1 Putter in Golf®that enhance both the feel and stroke, with a look that suits theeyes of even the most discerning golfers. Odyssey’sProType line also offers golfers a unique opportunity to personalizetheir putters by choosing from six different colors for their gripand putter head paint fill.

Odyssey’sProType putters will be available in six head shapes, each of whichhas delivered winning results on professional tours around the world. The putters are made from 1025 Carbon Steel, producing similarperformance characteristics to stainless steel, but with a softerfeel. The face of each putter features a deeper, sharper milling pattern to increase interaction between the face andthe ball for better feel, truer roll and more consistency.

Whenwe set out to design the ProType putters, we decided on six shapesthat were tour-proven—meaning not only have Tour pros used them, but they’ve won with them,” said Austie Rollinson, Odyssey’sPrincipal Designer. “The second thing that influenced these designsis the feedback we got from tour players, which helped us makemodifications to existing products and arrive at these new offerings.Their feedback led us to fine-tune the sound, include a deep millpattern on the face, and design with thinner top lines and thickerfaces. The clean look and one-piece construction was also somethingthat players really liked and wanted to see in this type of product.”

Basedon insight gleaned through this collaboration with Tourprofessionals, the Odyssey ProType line features a high polish steelfinish and precise craftsmanship that creates an ideal balance topromote a smooth stroke. Tour-tuned weight ports in the sole optimizethe putterhead with the shaft length and optimizefeel, control andaccuracy.

Odyssey’s ProType line also offers consumers theopportunity to personalize their putters by choosing from sixdifferent paint fills in the putterhead and the same six coloroptions in the
Lamkin[SUP]®[/SUP]3GEN[SUP]®[/SUP]Pistol Grip. Made in a thin, smaller pistol shape that appeals tobetter players, the grip is made of Lamkin’s proprietary 3GENmaterial, which is their softest synthetic rubber compound andreduces vibration without dulling the feel of the putt. This allowsgolfers to keep their forearms relaxed, apply very light grippressure and minimize hand tension for smooth, consistent strokes.

“We havebeen personalizing putters with our after market grips for a whilenow and the putter is such a personal piece of equipment for golfers, specifically tour players,” Rollinson said. “If there’s anyclub in the bag that has a personality it would be the putter; it’sthe life of the party. Go out on tour and you’ll see that no twoputters are exactly the same. So we wanted to be able to bring thatpersonalization to consumers, at least in the grip and paint fill.”

Odyssey is the#1 Putter across the world’s major professional tours in wins, usage and top-10 finishes. Theentire ProType line of Odyssey putters will arrive at retail onFebruary 17. Very nice! I've owned a few Odyssey putters in the past and these look and sound great. May have to give one a try.

Hello #2, you shall be in my bag soon.

I do love that plumbers neck!

I saw Phil using that second one this past weekend and I like it quite a bit. I love the look of the hosel. Very awesome!

He actually used this one.

Odyssey White Hot XG PT82 Blade

But from a distance, they look similar in shape.

Odyssey never disappoints, top-notch putters!

Ah, thanks for the clarification. They do look very similar. I just noted that it was a change from his old putter and this looked like it.

It'll be interesting to see if either of these makes it's way into any MC bags.

I love the blade, with the Carolina blue paintfill and grip

The milling looks good. Hope these are at demo day

Come on Lucky 7!!

Great looking putters. I really like the #9 and (the idea of) the two ball. I looked for it, but didn't see it, which models will be available for belly? Is there a price increase for the belly's?

Good stuff... My question is is there any real performance benefit over the Cleveland classic line to justify the price or is it solely paying for the name?

The milling on these faces looks really good. Hope these are options for the Callaway staffers, I could definitely see them being wanted!

those look so gorgeous

I can see one of these in my MC bag!

Just finished looking at these beauties on the Odyssey website, the Protype #6 will get a few rolls from me for sure, it looks very good to me.

Good looking putters.

I spent some time with the #2 on Saturday and was pretty impressed.

Numero 6 looks mighty fine.

Ooh, I'm hoping there will be a number 6 available over this way soon. Looks like the kind of shape I'm pondering right now, with some sweeeet milling to boot.

Man, if this feels like my Tour Black its a winner!!
